Good morning........even more tired......even more skint

Two bank charges of £30 each came out yesterday taking me ever further away from break even........

........I knew I had the shortfall, and I know that I cannot do anything about it until the money that I am expecting later in the month from student rent etc comes in, but even so, it really jars me off that £60 can just be taken pushing me ever further away from being able to manage.

In total, over two accounts, we have had £120 of charges, this month alone so far, with more to come.....so we immediately start next month on the back foot, making it harder.....

..thank goodness for quidco paying out at the beginning of August, but that money SHOULD be for other things than paying bloody bank charges

Still no decision about OH job....nothing else on the horizon either.

In better news, ebay is up to £46 with a couple of things finishing today - still hoping for £50 after fees and postage.

Have a good day everyone x

D*mn! Thats horrible! Hearing about bank charges in the paper is one thing, but then the reality of how awful it is, and how unfair it is, really hits home with what you're going through.

Glad you've got the quidco stuff and ebay coming in soon.

Morning Hypno sorry to hear about the bank charges. It's a lot of money to have to pay out before you start again.I really feel for you.I hope DHs job gets sorted soon so that it takes some strain off you and that e-bay gives you the required amount.
Hope you have a good day.

Hi Hypno and all, cant wade through all your postings since I have been gone, only a few days and so much has been written.!
I am sorry to hear about the bank charges.? I realise that you pay off extra to some of your debts, but would it be wise to reduce that a bit, and have a buffer zone in the bank accounts so that the charges are not possible? It seems to me that every penny going to egg etc could be better off in a buffer Zone at the bank as the Interest related differences on £120 must be hugh amounts to gain, and like all banks they add it on every day you make another transaction? Or am I being dim??

No, mooloo, you are not being dim......, however it is just not that simple. Overpayments (with the exception of a whopping £1.70) stopped when OH job stopped anyway, so that is not really causing the problem.

Sorry - back to that "not in the right frame of mind" again.....will log off before I get too wound up with myself!

    Catch you later x

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

update - OH has accepted the low paid charity job - at least it is SOMETHING......he is now looking for something else to supplement it (he already has a "casual" second job, so needs to register with another temp agency or something to make up some of the difference).

I feel happier knowing that I have some figures to work with - not ideal but better than jobseekers allowance!

Ebay - £46 on one item that has just ended - a few more bits with small bids ending tonight, so my £50 target will be reached.
