Breathe, ah, that is where I have been going wrong :o

Thanks for the cake KC x

I have been giving the job thing a lot of thought for OH.......I said to him that because it is his "perfect" job and one he has been secretly wanting to do for several years now, it would be a real shame to let it go, simply because of the money.

So I have said that he has to take responsibility for making up the difference, if he chooses to accept it - how he does this is up to him.......2nd, 3rd 4th jobs.....whatever, but that I am NOT prepared to make up this shortfall myself as I have enough to do with robbing peter to pay paul for the existing shortfalls we have as a family, and trying to make enough extra to pay for the skiing for the kids etc.

The other thing that concerns me is that by rejecting this job, what guarantee is there that anything better comes along in the current job climate - I don't want him to cut off his nose to spite his face, and end up taking a low paid, low satisfaction job when things get desperate, and then regretting turning down this one!

So, he has a lot to think about and I honestly don't know which way he will go. There is no "right" answer at the mo!!

    Hi Hypno

Totally sympathise with you here! As you (and others) know I am in a very similar situation at the moment. I gave my OH the option months ago of trying to find something he would really like to do, but because he did nothing about it then he is in the position now of having to apply for anything and everything because we are now desperate. Something (however little) is better than nothing at the moment.

Having read Weller's devastating news this morning, it puts everything into perspective really.........

So, taking a deep breath right now, and counting my blessings as my Nana would say. My life is really not so bad.

I completely agree Hypno, and am not ashamed to say I've had a little weep for Weller and her children.
