I got eveything I wanted to do done today! :j

My e-bay chaise longue has been delivered and it is perfect. It wants re-covering but I knew that, much better condition than I was expecting. I have found a course to do on how to do it locally so very pleased all round.

DH has just invited his parents to come on Sunday as we haven't seen them for a while but I have already cleared the worst of the mess today so just enjoying myself thinking what to cook. The lamb and chickpea curry in the slow cooker was superb and has convinced us both it is worth using.

Boys have gone to bed, just waiting for the chickens to go so I can slope off myself. excitng life, isn't it :p

Hi everyone big hugs to everyone.

I am having a crap week, sky is trying to rip us off so have been going mad at them, told them to take sky out. There trying to charge me 32 pounds for movies watched in 2004:eek: , they say it was ordered over the remote so i've told them that every film we've ever watched from them was ordered over the phone and the cost was put on to the next months bill.

Took loads down from the attic yesterday for ebay opened all bags had a look through then panicked and put it all back up in the attic, to much stuff. Think i should just do one bag at a time.:rotfl:

Been to dentist today who told me last 1 filling to get as my tooth was broken went to day and he gave 3 injection so whole top lip/mouth frooze and half of bottom side ended up getting 3 fillings, mouth is so sore and OH wanted to go to HMV (25 miles there and 25 back) so off we go then had to go to hospital for his meds.
Come home and i go to bed and he looks after the kids ,an hour later youngest is down in our room to tell me daddy is sleeping. So up i get like a bull, 2 kids out in the garden and he's sleeping so i fill a glass of water and i kid you not, i throw it round him. He wakes up soaking and me shouting at him, let just say tonight will be a very quiet night.

    Right i need a cuppa.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Evening!! I am soooo tired! Busy day's supply.

Today I was at a school which has a very good reputation, and is known to be a good school - and I didn't really like it there the last time I went, and I'm not that sure I liked it today! I was given an information pack, and the tone is quite patronising. It gives extracts from the discipline policy etc, and then says - oh, but as a supply teacher, you can't issue a warning or a school asbo (yes, they have them), and we don't want you to call for a senior member of staff... and there's a lovely paragraph about not blaming the children or the school, but acknowledging your own inadequacies. Gee, thanks. that just makes me feel really confident and on top of things. It also doesn't explain why five groups did exactly as they were told, and the sixth one would not in the slightest do anything they were told. Year 9 of course. I wasn't really impressed by one of the loudmouth girls who told me it was because I couldn't control them - well, I do believe that they are each responsible for their own behaviour - if I tell them to be quiet, all they have to do is close their own mouth... Got my own back at the end by refusing to let them leave for lunch break until everyone was silent.

Still, I can't have done too badly last time, because I was requested by name this time.

I had a call when I got home to say that I have one day a week French at the same school I do on Wednesday. I was hoping it would be two, but one regular day of my own subject is better than none.

No flying today, as I did a massive catch up yesterday. The children can shovel out their own rooms over the weekend. I shall be a) buying birthday presents for DD, who is 16 on Thursday, and my Dad who is 80 on Wednesday and b) gardening, with a bit of luck.

hex - that wisteria would have sold me the house too. Don't like pyracantha, certainly a waste of a south facing wall. A friend has hardenbergia (sp??), and I am most impressed. It flowers for months and months. My favourite is a wall shrub, Coronilla glauca valentina 'Citrina'. Scented pale yellow pea flowers all through the winter from September to April. My one is still covered with flowers now.

hugs to raphael and your mum.

Denise - you're doing the best you can, so don't beat yourself up. Dust and housework is always there after all!

pigpen - I have one doing SATS, one doing GCSE's, and one doing a mix of AS and A level. Have pencilled in total nervous collapse for end of June.

johanne - definitely recommend the valley cushion, and the NCT have a helpline if you want support, also breastfeeding counsellors locally, and on a helpline. Take all the help you can, anyone who offers. Gentle hugs. And blowing a kiss to Sarah.
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be

Would that I could, but he doesn't have one...........coz he doesn't have any teeth!!!

He had to have them pulled because of a gum problems.

He's just come to say his mate called to ask if he can go climbing on Sunday. I said "It depends how much you get done tomorrow." He said "Yeah, no problem." Creeping, or what? Am I being mean making him do chores before he can go out to play? I keep going in the kitchen and adding another job to his list on the white board.

Raph - sorry you're not having much luck just now. Hope your Mum's dog's op is successful, but  at price!

Johanne - hope you feel more comfortable soon, so you can enjoy baby Sarah.

    Now, anyone want a laugh?

OH called to remind me that he needs to leave house by 6.15 tonight. I said I'd have dinner ready, but did that mean he was away whole weekend again? He said he was and reminded me that I had said it was OK for him to be away alternate weekends. (That was when I got really annoyed having found he's booked himself away for the next 8)

He then said that I only had to say the word and he'd give up cadets. I said I'd complained for years about the amount of time he spent away with other folks kids while I was home, then I hung up! I was really upset, and felt miserable all morning, especially as there is a BBQ on Monday pm and he'll expect us all to go and play Happy Families with his cadet buddies. I text him and said my life wouldn't be worth living if I asked him to give up cadets as he's such a grouch if he misses anything, and he grudges doing anything for home and family. I said he was just watching while the house got more messy and I struggled to fit everything in around working full time, including loads of extra at home. (BTW - I'm synchronising at the moment, so can't do anything with my work laptop ATM)

Anyway, he phoned a little while ago to say "You'll have the doubtful pleasure of my company all weekend after all." Apparently one of the female officers has had to cancel and as they have so many female cadets, they can't go without her. I told him I'd have a long list of jobs ready for him and he just said "I'm sure you will." Would I gloat? No, but it's the nearest I'll get to him apologising, so :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Swap 'cadets' for 'Boys brigarde' and we are in the same boat....

Well, college went well. I had to do a core skills assesment, but passed easy! (though math was killing me!) There was a fire alarm too! :rotfl: Will find out by next Friday whether or not I'm in.

Done nothing today, didn't even make dinner, I was lazy and fat and went to the chip shop.

I have to do the kitchen before I go to bed.

Well done Soapy! I keep getting almost to the grand and having to move money back for this that or the other.

Johanne, hope you feel better soon!

Raphael, (((hugs))) You have had your 3, so there can't be anything else over the horizon.

Tia - maybe we should start a "Wives Club" then? He's a nightmare if he doesn't get his regular fix of khaki! Glad my kids were never like him - they're both much more easy going, thank goodness.

I nearly forgot, having started my job in October and asked to redesign a 7 week programme (English) to last 36 weeks (Welsh), which has since been changed to 18, and 22, with and without wider key skills and so on and so on, I had an email today to myself and a colleague to ask if we can do some candidates on a private contract over the 7 weeks! I said I'll happily do the sign up paperwork, but I don't feel I can cope with running 3 different schedules at once. I know I'll end up at doc's as I'm already mega-stressed.

soappie! Where do you find out where auctions are on at?

Read the small ads in the local paper, google "auctioneer" with the name of your home town to get an idea of the auction houses in your area or just local knowledge - pump your neighbours and friends for info.

I'm v. lucky in that the particular auction house I'm going to tomorrow (and yes, I am really going to be THAT mean and will NOT tell you its name!) is just up the road and specialises in the smaller stuff like stamps and paper and postcards and things. (It's where I got the infamous maps from all those years ago).

Look for the 'general sales' rather than furniture etc. A lot of them are not yet online...
