Help with a Currys dilemma

Hy
Thanks for everyones help, including the ones who seem to think that everyone in the world is on the make ?
There has been a twist in the tale, i went to discuss the matter this morning at the store in question and they informed me that the telly i should of had was sold ( again ) over the weekend to a member of staff on discount !!!!!!
They have none of that model left nor can they get one nationwide as they are an older model.
I have contacted customer service and they will inform me of their findings.
Crazy !!!!! Never ever shop at Curry's again...............set of BaffoonsHello again0 -
Please dont generalise about currys staff, I work for currys but am not a baffoon and not an idiot!! and I'm sure coolmumh's daughter isnt.
I do agree that you have been majorly messed about by your local store and should maybe write to head office regarding your issue if they cannot resolve it.0 -
I'd keep the telly. They sold you a box with a TV in, you accepted it. Tell them you expect them to honour the sale as it was their error and the difference in the TVs was too subtle for you to notice, whereas they are the experts so the onus is on them. Call their bluff a couple of times and my guess is that they will go away.
If that gets messy, cancel the contract and let them come round and take it back, but delay a little - you'll soon get it cheaper. It's not as if they can enter your house under anything but your terms0 -

Well you know the answer, get back to the store and point out that if they can come knocking on a CUSTOMERS door demanding the TV back due to their error then they can do the same to the member of staff who bought your one. Then the problem is solved, you get your TV delivered and fitted, the other customer is happy and the emplyee has to wait as due to Curry's error they bought a TV that was already sold;) If they disagree to that then go the local newspaper and point out you are happy to asist them even though they were negligent but you would like to know why customers come second to staff (but only if they refuse this option)Fire up the Quattro!0 -
yeah given the latest development, i think u should start a clock on time spent on this and also tell them to get you a replacement or forget the whole thing.click here to achieve nothing!0

Tell them you have a strict "No returns" policy unless the payment turns out to be damaged when it is received0
-
I would let them come and setup another tv at your convenience.
Everybody happy0 -
Skippy, the more I think about this the more it seems to me that Currys are trying something on for reasons I can't fathom out (maybe the person who bought the other one wanted a newer model so his mates are trying to help him?). Presumably when they gave you your contract you will have had a receipt which was generated by a scanning of the box bar code? If so then that receipt must be for the newer model and will show you bought the newer model for the agreed price?0

What I would do personally, is tell them the TV is at yours to collect and they can have it when they bring yours and hook it up.
Assuming you haven't already given it back? x0 -

My sincerest apologies to members of Currys staff who may be on this forum, yes i did generalise but given the messing about this weekend i was and still am wound up.
I have spoke again to Head office who now say hang on to the telly for 1 week until the actual manager of the store and NOT the underling has been made aware of the stores !!!! up.
I only hope this tactic is genuine and not one to send me over the time limit for returning goods ????????????Hello again0
