And i will. I enjoyed some of the getting into debt. But most i did not. We hopefully get wiser as we get older. And dont forget we did not have a site like this way back then. If we had then maybe many more of us would not be in the pickle we are in now. ANd also we did not talk about our debts. Iy was always a taboo subject. How fabulous is this to be able to support each other now. xxxxxxxx
Well done on your impending dfd! :T I wonder how many of us would be so money savvy if there wasnt a site like this nowadays too. Money is still a taboo subject, but definately not to the same extent as it was. I love this site, it is great not to be judged on our finances (or lack of them) and to appreciate the simpler non costing things in life and not looked down upon for doing so. Rant overxx0 -

31 - and been in debt since I left Uni as I had a student loan and moved to a new place for my first graduate position. That meant one month's deposit for a flat, plus rent in avdance, 2 suits and 5 tops, work shoes and a decent briefcase.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Hi there, I'm 37 have really been in debt since I was 16 was a YTS on £27 a week, living in a bedsit & always overdrawn & starving! then at 18 & got an access card! managed to pay it off aged about 21 when we bought our flat, was debt free for a short time, then mortgage rate kept going up & rip off maintenance company kept finding new ways to get more money out of us & it just spiralled again from there, cleared almost all of it by 1999 when we bought our house had 2 babies in 3 years, added £28,000 debt to mortgage which had been run up by several consolidation loans & credit cards, was trying to live on one wage, but spending more than we did on 2 wages, buying bits for babies, doing the house up etc. Mortgage was then so high, started using the cards again, ran up this last £20,000 which has now been paid off & at last after over 20 years, we have savings:T & I've paid it off "properly" by cutting down & struggling, so not as easy as getting a loan, so know I wont do it again. Just wish I'd been a MSE'r befor I added all that debt to my mortgage:mad:Comping again - wins so far : 2 V festival tix, 2 NFL tix, 6 bottles of wine, personalised hand soap, Aussie miracle conditioner
