I've only just started making jewellery and so far I've managed to make 2 bracelets. I've been having difficulty with the crimp beads, snapping the wire or breaking the crimp beads so I think my next investment will be crimping pliers - anyone have any recommendations that won't break the bank? I've looked on ebay but there are so many types!

In Search Of Me - how did you make the black and silver bracelet? It's gorgeous!

Just been on Garish Globe .co.uk website .... they had a set of mini pliers for £3.95 - would probably be ok to get you started.

Vicks276 .....why is post reported .... only recommending a pair of £3.95 pliers as requested by OP in her post if you take time to read it......... I have nothing to do with company apart from having bought beads off them maybe twice!!!! Check where I live Northern Ireland ... company in Cumbria!!!!! ....
thought this was all about money saving ??? trying save OP some dosh by cheapish pliers to start OP with her jewellery making!!!

ETA - your own post from a few back recommending a company to purchase from!!!!!
"I got some from ebay, it was ridiculously cheap like £2.99 for 100m, and it is the best one I have used so far. It is really strong. I'm pretty sure it was from k2-accessories_07 they are really good and combined postage is cheap too."

here you go...alas despite me thinking people would love em noone bought any so havent made more...people in work seem to love the dangly ones - which make me more money (spiral goes for 8 and dangly 10 or 15)...supply and demand lol!
visks to avoid spam post confusion may be worth putting "spam post xxx...reported?" Then whe its removed the person next doesent think theyve offended..just a thought! :)

I'm so glad I've found this thread, I've yet to read it all, however there are some lovely items you have all made. I have been buying a few bits as I want to make a lariat necklace (on suede cord), when I saw them selling for £30.00 at a craft fair it made me determined to have a go myself!!

Thats the best way to start, and then your friends will admire it and you will make one for them and then their friends and before you know you have a nice wee sideline!!!!:j:j
