First thing that comes to mind is that a ring will need soldering to each end of the chain, thats the only way that I can think of. I just can't think of any other way of getting a ring on the new pieces.

But I have just had another thought, if you don't like the original chain, then what about a ribbon on each side of the acceptable diamante? then it won't detact from the sparkle in the middle?

    Lovely stuff ladies :D :T

I went to the bead shop today to get some silver chain, £2 a metre  I still bought some because I want it now lol just got a bit, will order some off ebay I think.

In a different bead shop which isn't a rip off but they had no silver chain :( I picked these up...

Aren't they lush, they're made from tagua nuts apparently. The slices were 35p each and the rounds were 20p each. They had so many different colours and shapes, I was a good girl and held back :D Can't wait to get busy with these.

Not strictly jewellery but when I bought a couple as presents in Grenada they were called 'spice necklaces' They are very fragrant and are hung in kitchens or cupboards but I suppose you could wear them if you really wanted

The necklace consists of various spices strung on a sturdy cotton thread, although I suppose you could use wire. The spices include Nutmeg, chilli, pieces of bay leaves, ginger, cinamon stick, licorice, cloves, vanilla, allspice berries . You could also add some beads (wood would be quite nice), nuts or seeds eg sunflower

If you google spice necklace grenada you'll come across some pictures

Sounds lovely Sandy, bet it smells good. I am having images now of threading a needle through the spices!!!

Mmm I like the spicy idea too.

Angie, it was the shop on Gloucester/Cheltenham Rd never know where one ends and the other begins. It's just opposite the big wine shop, near Elton Road, the shop is called Bamba Beads.

My leg is horrid, I got it lanced in the end now it's just a big bloody oozy mess. On more anti-biotics now, god knows how it got this bad :(

I think I might go and take a look at that bead shop, never knew it was there. I know the wine shop you mean, used to be Bottoms Up lol!!!

Have you done your craft stall yet??

I want to fix a mikey bracelet that has had a few of the little diamante pieces come out of the hearts and star charms that are on the bracelet

Is it easy to replace them and does anyone know where I can buy any replacement pieces

Has anyone worked with paper beads before. I was looking on this site and came across these:

They look very interesting! Lovely colours also.

Anyone know much about the cost of silver plate bookmarks-they type you hang charms from. Someone has asked me if I can make some but they are quite pricey on ebay. Saw some for around 54p each - is that good? Anyone have any cheaper suppliers??

    Thanks!

Wow Angie, that's a bargain, (I mean the book marks that is!) I think the last ones I got were 10 for 9.99 so that's a £ each! Try Beadservice (maybe be .co.uk) run by a lovely lady called Debbie, I know she does them, in both sizes and is very resonable and very very quick qith the delivery.
