New card - Abbey Zero

Applied 5th August online requesting BT
Conditionally accepted and got the forms on the 11th August. Filled them out and sent them off the same day.
Abbey still haven't got any record of receiving them.
Rung a few times and have been told they're sending the forms out again, that they are chasing to see if they have actually arrived, and promised again they will send them out again if they definitely haven't arrived. Seems like they have no idea.
Anyway the guy today said I was unlikely to have a card until the end of September, by which time the interest free period on my existing £5k balance with sainsbury's bank credit card will have already ended.
Thought I'd left enough time...REALLY annoying as I now have to apply to another company for a credit card...seems like a few on here have similar stories0 -
… Seems like they have no idea...
It’s fascinating to read on MSE of the many newbies who have picked up this card in less than two weeks with a decent credit limit.
Unfortunately I’m an existing ‘valued’ customer with guaranteed acceptance. It’s eight weeks on Monday since I submitted my application.
Nobody can tell me what’s going on...0 -
sorry if this has been covered elsewhere... but does Abbey do SBTs to current accounts?
thanks!0 -

thanks Yorkshireboy
Quick stoozing question in that case. I have maxed out Egg card with SBT, so how best to get Abbey balance to a savings account? BT from Abbey to Egg and then ask Egg to SBT to account? Seems a bit fishy
Thanks, karie0 -

Do you also have an Egg Money card?0 -
i think it is an Egg Money card. Will check it out to be sure.

That has to be a recipe for disaster.I’m going to end up paying a substantial amount of interest because of this. That interest is not going to Abbey, it’s going to the competition. And if you know that you’re overwhelmed, why would you mail existing customers twice in three months to try and get them onboard too?
What conclusion can a sane person come to looking at all this?0 -
Application date 19 July, never received anything, several calls saying stuff is one the way, has been resent, etc etc.
Waste of a credit application and a lot a ucking about having to make other arrangements, this bunny aint funny.
Understandably so. I've not had anyone waiting 6-7 weeks for the agreements so I don't know what the problem is. You should have got the "stuff" by early August tops. Have Abbey definately done a credit search as I can only imagine the delay is due to the application not going through? Unfortunately I wouldn't know if anything has been resent etc as explained previously on this thread.0 -

Well the systems don't say at the moment if the documents returned have been received. I expect they have, but there is just a delay putting the finishing touches to preparing your account. If you do get another agreement, might be best to send it back though to be on the safe side.
I am sorry for the delays but I'm fairly hopeful you'll get the card shortly.0
