You are way too hard on yourself.

Instead of approaching this in number crunchy way do it from emotive way. Give her some space and like others said gently remind her of the benefits your effort have reaped thus far.

At the risk of been shot by women from the forum, what is she whinging about?

It is not like you are going out to do the shopping while she is at home and she will just have to eat whatever you buy (Smartprice toilet rolls, Smartproce readymeals etc, lol) but she will still have entire control of the shopping. Its madness. I don't get women sometimes.

I appreciate this may be a little off topic but hey. One thing my gf does with money that really infuriates me is that I get paid monthly and pay the majority of the bills. She gets paid weekly and draws the majority of her wages out of bank. We hardly ever have cash in our account because of this so interest is non-existent. I ask her why she does it and she says so that she knows how much is left. Really, I don't think she can be bothered to get the laptop out and check bank lol

I know mate. The point was trying to make is that if someone had come to me 10 years ago and told me how to do things, I would have told them to poke it and shove it up their bottom. Now that I see things clearly, I want everyone else to see it from my point of view.

Right or wrong, until that person comes to their own conclusion you're beating your head against a brick wall. I really want to rant with my wife, but I know its counterproductive. I think what I really want is advice on how to explain my situation better to her, so that she understands my point of view (and I'm sure she feels the same!!!)
