What's in my purse - have no idea now, since it was stolen from my handbag yesterday! Spent much of the day at police station, in bank and phoning card companies.
Card replacements went smoothly, but now without cards for 7 - 10 days until new ones arrive. Also instructed to monitor bank account for suspicious transactions and to be wary of anyone phoning to say they are from police or bank about my stolen cards.
That sucks. Regarding the replacement. You didn't happen to have an American Express or Barclaycard did you? They both offer 24 hour replacement magstripe cards.0 -

Thanks, but no I don't have these cards.
I'm hoping that the 7 - 10 days is a conservative estimate and actual time will be quicker. Luckily debit card loss is not a problem as OH's debit card has a different number although for same account, so we can use his card.
Minor niggle, but really bugs me is how the thief will benefit from the assorted things I had in the purse - store loyalty cards with points (cancelled now), cafe cards with free drink stamps, etc, even Asda price guarantee voucher and its linked receipt and purse itself which I've had for years and liked.
Thank goodness bus pass has a photo (just recognisable) otherwise thief would have got free bus travel, library pass, council leisure centre discount and an acceptable proof of ID in various places.
Incidentally, when reading this thread, I'm horrified at the amount of things people have in their wallets/purses if they get stolen.0 -

If you have a look at First Direct Labs others have complained about the same - FD's response is that they are working with their card manufacturer to improve the robustness of the lettering..watch this space..Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -

My only contactless cards are MBNA and Barclaycard, none of my debit cards are.
Yeah they sent me a normal one when I opened the account, I rang them up and asked for a contactless one and they sent it out no probs.0 -
Card designs are quite dull and boring these days. It was much nicer when you had other logos on them like the Delta and Classic logos and also the Cheque Guarantee hologram.
The best card design in my humble opinion was the Abbey National Multifunction Card round about 1994-1996 ish. As shown here with colour co-ordinating cheque book.0
