I'm very angry!!!
I just found out about this promotion, but because I registered in a Lloyds TSB BRANCH instead of the airmiles website they not only refuse me to credit them (both Airmiles and Lloyds, I just called them), Lloyds doesn't even let me close the account and open it again! They say I need to wait 6 months before applying again!!!
Is there anything I can do? Gosh, the amount of times the bank clerk insisted in me going to him to open the credit card account! I feel so gullible!
Any help?0 -

I had exactly the same problem - I applied supposedly through a link to Airmiles to apply for my new credit card and 1500 free airmiles. I received the cards and used them as directed but checking statement the 1500 miles were no-where to be found. I phoned numerous times and both Lloyds and Airmiles blamed each other. I was advised to cancel my current cards and re-apply through the correct channels which I did.
Upon receiving my new cards I used them as directed. Still, no airmiles materialised. Phoned both companies again, and was told by Lloyds because I had cancelled and reapplied I was no longer eligible for the 1500 miles. I told them these were my instructions from a previous Lloyds call, but still they stuck to it.
After six months, numerous letters and long sessions on the phone I wrote one last letter to customer services (Lloyds). I received a letter a week later stating that in these circumstances I would get the miles (by way of a redeemable voucher). I got the miles a week later.
Neither company wanted to take responsibility, but in the end it seems that you need to claim through Lloyds.0 -
Applied for the card over the phone and complained that there are so many adverts and all were misleading... still got my 1500 miles but it took several calls and emails. Contact Lloyds TSB customer services in Holdernhurst Road, Bournemouth. Be relentless!! They will back down eventually. Tell them that without the 1500 miles you would never have applied. The voucher is now valid until Dec 2009!!0

We've just come back last week from a trip in Stockholm, paid for by Airmiles.
And, I now (almost) have enough Airmiles - seperately from the original voucher - for one return flight to New York0
