in Credit cards
What's this about?
Since January, Airmiles has offered 1,500 free miles (redeemable for a return European BA flight) for anyone opening its credit card, spending £10 on it, and booking at least one night in a hotel via Airmiles.
Yet some who did this haven't yet received their miles. If this is you, don't worry; Airmiles have stated they will proactively sort the problems out.
What do you need to do?
If it all goes to plan, nothing. Providing you applied via this link - Airmiles Duo Credit Card - and fulfilled the conditions laid out above, then the Airmiles has said it's reviewing all applications to ensure you get the miles you earnt. So sit back, and wait for them to appear on your statement!
If you didn't see this deal when it was originally included in the free weekly MoneySaving email, read all the details of it, and loads of other similar offers, in the Credit Card Freebies article.
What if this doesn't happen?
If you've had problems and they don't get sorted out, please let us know by replying in this thread.

Should be. I had the card for a while direct from Lloyds before I thought about looking on the Airmiles website. Was up to 2000 miles at the last check, not the easiest things to spend on good deals though IMO.
If you spent your £ 10 on the Amex card, you've got 1 airmile. If you spend it on the Mastercard, you need to spend another £ 25 to get 1 airmile.
You need to get 750 airmiles (£ 7,500 spend on the Amex card) for a Zone 1 flight from a London airport, or 1,250 for those of us out in the stix north of Watford with our banjos and webbed feet."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Hiya
I haven't yet received my miles even though I'm pretty certain I did everything I was supposed to.
Who do I contact to find out what the problem is? Airmiles or Lloyds TSB? And how?? It is so unclear.
Thanks0 -
I have opened the account, and spent money - but but wasn't going to book my night's accomodation until I know that I have the miles - or do I have to do that 1st??Always on the hunt for a bargain.
Always grateful for any hints, tips or guidance as to where the best deals are:smileyhea0 -

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I called Airmiles who had no record of me on their system - they referred me back to Lloyds who said they don't deal with Airmiles! Finally managed to speak to someone at Lloyds to get them to provide my collector number to Airmiles (Lloyds need this to be able to deposit the miles in your Airmiles account). Have now been told that this should be sorted in the next few weeks and my 1500 miles will also post. Hopefully will then get welcome details from Airmiles so I can log on etc.
Hope this helps.0 -
Hi Gaily,
I spent the required £10 a couple of months ago. It seems to take a while but you should get an email informing you that your 1500 airmiles have been credited. It will also appear in you Airmiles statement as a voucher0 -

Hi spooky1,
I had the same problem and I must be in the 1% that is mentioned above. I contacted Airmiles through the customer service link on their website and explained that I had not received the airmiles. They wrote back saying that I didn't qualify because the offer was only available to people who applied through the link on their website. I wrote back telling them that is exactly how I had applied and that I would not have applied for any other reason than to receive the 1500 miles. They told me they would look into it and a few days later I received a letter in the post telling me that they would go ahead and give me the miles. They never did offer an apology or accept responsibility.0 -
It took me 4 phone calls and 2 emails of complaint before they sorted it out (as usual Lloyds blaming airmiles and vice versa) so having spent my £10 I have now closed the account. Have at last (3 months after the spend) received the voucher!0

Interestingly I received an e-mail last week from Airmiles telling me my voucher had been added, however when I logged into my account there was no voucher. I contacted Customer Services and a day later got an e-mail saying they would look into it. Got another e-mail about 5 minutes later saying that the offer was only open to people that had spent £10 in a single transaction and that the e-mail telling me the voucher had been added was a mistake. Considering I had spent £1300 in a single transaction I asked them to check again but have heard nothing at all since.0

1500 Airmiles showed in my Airmiles account about 14 days after opening the account in January.0
