I still dont have mine. I've made 5 phone calls in total. Originally i was told by airmiles to contact lloydstsb as i applied via the wrong web site and was therefore not valid for the offer. I tried to explain how would i know about the offer if i applied via whe wrong web site but they were not interested.
Lloydstsb said airmiles were wrong and i should recive the point in 28 days this was 2 months ago. So much for an easy free flight! Wish i had just stuck with my normal Lloydstsb credit card.0 -
I still don't have mine, spent well over the required amount and applied via the link. When I activated my card I confirmed with the lady on the phone that I had applied for the airmiles and she stated that I would receive them 30 days after the spend I believe. I hadn't really been keeping track of it, but having seen this thread it reminded me that I'm due my airmiles!!0

Hiya,
I had the same problem, just noticed on my statment yesterday that the points werent credited. Rang airmiles and was told that 1500 points applies when you spend at least £10 on your AMERICAN EXPRESS card not on the other. So im putting my shopping on it today :-)
Hope it helps.

Hi,
I applied too in January and spent way over £10 minimum, and after waiting ages, rang Airmiles, was told to ring Lloyds but they say i didn't qualified because i applied over the phone instead of online.
Is it worth pursuing?Fabrice

Have had the same problems as many. Have had the story from Airmiles about needing to spend xx amount of money, then the one about waitng for 30 days. Then from Lloyds TSB that I didn't apply for the card via the Airmiles site. So I wrote back and said I definitely did apply via airmiles, and wouldn't have applied at all otherwise. Got a letter yesterday from Lyods TSB to say they are sorry to have taken 4 weeks to reply and that they'll write to me again within another 4 weeks, either with a response or to tell me when I can expect their response!! is this someting the banking ombudsman would have an interest in?0

I have just checked my Airmiles account and have found 1 voucher worth 1500 miles on the account. To be used by I think May 2009 and must buy at least one nights accommodation with the flight.
Quite good as I only had 600 odd miles to start with0 -
Okay; so I saw the recommendation that was made on this site about the Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo Card.
I have had my cards through and I have had my 1500 airmiles credited to my account.
To get the 1500 airmiles you have to spend £10 on your AMERICAN EXPRESS Duo Card by JULY 2008.
What they didn't tell me or made clear is that the 1500 miles can NOT be counted towards your airmiles balance. The 1500 miles is infact a voucher which you have to use by March 2009 and you HAVE to purchase one nights hotel through airmiles to make this voucher valid.
Can I just say that the hotel prices are Crazy!
And not only that; but try getting a flight with Airmiles and you will find that "no flights found" over and over and over......
Not only that but you have to spend £10 to get 1 airmile on your American Express and £50 to get 1 airmile for the Mastercard!
If you are serious about obtaining airmiles then the better option is to go with American Express British Airways Airmiles card, where you get 1 airmile for every £1 you spend.
Im closing my duo account down and they can stick their voucher!0 -
Thanks for this. It sounded good but typically it isn't
Do you mean the same British Airways American Express card I have I wonder? Mine is not Airmiles but BA miles. And, the kicker is that it takes a huge amount of BA miles to get anywhere. AFAIR it was like x10 the actual distance so the rate for BA miles was worse that Airmiles. Another card sitting on the shelf - waste of time filling in the application.0 -
At least you have had your miles! :-(
Does anyone happen to know whether I need to contact Lloyds TSB or Airmiles in the first instance to find out what has happened to my voucher? (I spent £10 on the Amex card almost as soon as I rec'd it, and have since paid off the balance...)
Thanks in advance!0 -
I feel I have been ripped off as well, does anyone know if we can appeal against this as I was hoping to save up for a year or two and get some really good flights. Already booked hols this year and I dont fancy having to go in March next year at the latest.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0
