Aren't all the smart nav options ( navigation , safe speed etc ) all run seperatrely by Trafficmaster ? if so it should be just a matter of pressing the button and giving the operator the payment details to get the service active.

    yes

£2.31pm !!!! Thought mind was good at £4.96 on my cheaper policy .. more on my bigger car

    ---

Do you pay in advance- if so not sure you have a payment to make in July ... depends on date due I suppose.

Those of us ( and others maybe?) paid an initial payment which was part of the basic premium- so this needs accounting for if they cancel mid term... strange though in policy docs there's a mention of policy cancellation fee... even if they cancel ( no reason)

I should find out soon enough , my current policy expires on 31/07 , have been told my payment for July will be base rate of £2.31 only.

I was looking to stay on the PAYD scheme for next year as I doubt I'll find anywhere that will offer me full comp for an average £5 a month , hopefully, they'll give me a renewal quote too good to refuse.

Yes they are. My point was that this having paid up front for the Trafficmaster services, they should stay the same and they will.

guess its the general lack of take up of trafficmaster services from those of us that got device/onstall free ( hence NU paid- and hoped for commisison on services) thats partly lead to NU pulling out

I don't think it had anything to do with the Trafficmaster services, I just think that maybe, the PAYD scheme didn't appeal to a lot of people because of the "big brother" scenario. Having said that, I am delighted to be able to keep Trafficmaster.

It was more than £2.31 but I had an open claim when I joined NU with 3 years NCB , the claim was closed a few months back and I had my full NCB reinstated as I was deemed to be not at fault and NU reduced my base rate to adjust for the " over payment " I had been charged, just realised that will push up my claimed £5 per month average by a £1 or £2.

I meant I will be charged £2.31 for July which will be paid in August.

I too have had the letter informing me that it's due to stop "over the coming months"
I have to say I'm disappointed as I do like the cover. They say it's due to insufficient take-up numbers, though when I had my device installed the guy was saying he was so busy doing them, he was actually a contractor as the main guys were so busy:confused:.

It does say they'll only charge base premium for the next few months while they offer a replacement option, presumably that would carry on until renewal if their alternative wasn't suitable......maybe our NU advisor could clarify matters for us???

At the moment the next steps haven't been decided in terms of dates, I'm liasing with the PAYD team so when any information is shared I will be able to share with you.

thanks Becca...sounds like there's a few fans of the service on here....maybe we should get Martin to do a write up of the positives of it and they might reconsider:p
