Linux is Rubbish.....
Say all those who sit on their rumps all day playing games.
A few reasons to emigrate to Linux.
Why dont you do something more worth while with your "third largest investment", and stop complaining you lazy gits.
In fact, guess what????
You can be lazy with Linux.
Instead of being a sheep, be a penguin, the world will love you for it, women will fall at your feet because of your astounding intellect.
Stop lining Bill Gates pocket.
Linux was created by intelligent people, Windows was developed by a couple of scammers.
Bout time you faced facts, If it was'nt for OEM and Pirates, how many copies of Windows do you think there would be in use.
Yea but its too much hassle,
it dont work,
I dont like it,
Im scared of penguins.
GET OVER IT.
Linux is here to stay and will be around long after Bill Gates retires in the Bahamas, with all your money.........To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0 -

The problems I have with linux and the reason it isn't my main OS (even though I still use it) have nothing to do with games but just the normal everyday typical stuff as well as work."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Hmmm no offense but it's aggressive posts like that which put people off Linux.
Something better to do with their time? Say that to my parents who would rather be in the garden, or my brother out climbing. Some people don't want to spend time learning a new OS when their current one works ok.
And Windows was hardy developed by scammers. How it was founded may have been very shrewd and business-like, but the developers that still develop it today are some of the best around. Look at something like the .Net framework and you'll see how good.
Linux will be here to stay I agree. So will Windows.
But at the moment Linux still mainly appeals to a certain type of person. Someone who doesn't mind spending time learning a new OS and putting effort into doing so."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I'm very grateful for those who develop Linux systems and extremely grateful to those of you who help on MSE but I just don't have the time or knowledge to learn "Ubunto",wish I had!
My third largest investment was my Hi-Fi. Don't ask about it otherwise it'll just cause more arguments. anyway I don't mind some of these aggressive posts...all seems a bit tongue in cheek and makes some good reading.
Good luck guys0 -
When are people going to learn the definition of opinion? There's NO POINT arguing about stuff like this because everyone has their own preference. That's the end of it in my opinion.- Google is your friend, use it :rolleyes:0

Exactly, you can only really talk about personal opinion and personal experience. But you always get some posters that extrapolate that to mean fact for everyone and if anyone's opinion or experience differs they must either be wrong, lying or incompetant. As I mentioned before I take what other people say as their experiences on face value. I'm not going to be egotistical enough to say that because it's different from mine it isn't valid."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

And judging by the quantity of posts you'll be may eventually have a post that is valid.0

Most sensible thing said in ages, can your post this on all manner of threads?! If everyone respected each others opinions, and took them for just that, opinions and valid points of view, this forum would be happier and more interesting.
Instead, invariably OS conversations and all manner of others breakdown into the lowest common denominator, "mine is better than yours".

tomsolomon Sig; System Error hit nearest user to continue.....
Because I'm not lazy and find myself busy most of the time, I find it quite difficult to find (and justify) the time to learn Linux and it's many and varied foibles (opinion). But I am giving it a go.
Interesting choice, penguin; a flightless bird often found out in the cold............
