    That's a repo, surely.

I'd have thought a repo would have gone to auction after all this time

more likely to be a probate sale than a repo

it's in a very nice area though

  • mOOmOO - it is a repo - so will go for less than asking price

Dean, you should get a palace for 110K in CF41! We're looking in CF64 and the prices are stubbornly high still.

    Annpan - Dinas/Sully/Penarth - shockingly overpriced still - I am in CF62 and looking in CF62 CF63 and CF64

All you can do really is try an offer - nothing to lose

I've never seen a repo be on the open market for 5 months without going to auction

that's a very patient lender if it is

  • The best one round my way is :

    21st May 2008 22:47:19
    • Price changed: from '£735,000' to '£715,000'

    12nd Apr 2008 14:51:09
    • Price changed: from '£737,500' to '£735,000'
    13rd Feb 2008 22:19:15
    • Price changed: from '£739,000' to '£737,500'
(table edited to remove superflous details)
    I can spell - but I can't type

If you look at the photo you will see the Repo notice in the window!

There is repo around the corner from me been on 6 months - sale has fallen through 3 times now another few weeks and the estate agent tells me it will be going to auction

Or not. But I hope you get what you want. We first bought in 1974 and were gazumpt on a 3 bed terrace. I was heart broken, but 2 weeks later we happened on a 3 bed semi that needed work. The owners liked us and wanted us to have the property which had belonged to their mother. We stretched ourselves to the limit and did the work steadily over quite a few years. Then we sold it and bought a plot of land and built our own house. (I do mean we built it. Me and the hubby put the roof on together one boxing day in 1983) . Now we have a 4 bed individual house that we could never have afforded to buy, but we had to work for it. Up for sale at a very reasonable price!!!!
  • Hello guys,

Great thread and now I've been introduced to property bee and property snake, I'm going to be hooked on the net for ages!!

I know it's a random question but can anybody shed any light on Chelmsford as a place to live? Currently, I live in East London (zone 3) and my partner and I are desperate to move. Ideally, we don't want a commute which is longer than an hour (chelmsford is about 55 mins commute for me) but maybe there are other areas we haven't thought about?
Unfortunately, we are priced out of most parts of London and I've been out in Chelmsford quite a few times and it seems quite nice/decent, certainly better than where we are now!!

    Thanks
    Ben
