  • Oooooh, who to pick???

HSBC - They were evil to me when I was a student. Gave me an overdraft, and didn't stop my card when I went over my limit, just let me keep spending. Gave me a credit card and the same thing applied to that. Then gave me a CCJ! Wouldn't do a thing to help me. Evil. (I would like to add that this was a long time ago, and I have nearly now learnt my financial responsibiltiy lesson!)

If we can count DCAs then hands down, no doubt, top of the pile: LOWELL FINANCIAL. They are spineless bullies, who wouldn't know the OFT fair trading guidelines if it jumped up and punched them on the nose (Oh how I wish it would!)

    Rant over!
    LBM: 14.01.08 - Debt at 25.04.08: £7420.9

MBNA. Increasing partners interest rate from 14.9% to 32.9% without any good reason or any notice as soon as he had a high amount on the card. They tried to say it was due to the fraudulent activity on his card (card details stolen, possibly online) but why should he be blamed for that? I think it was just as many others have found because he used it more (but only to half his limit) so they wanted to make more money on it. Then they have the nerve to phone all the time offering him a 0% balance tranfer deal but charging 4%......

I am with Halifax, never had any problems.

I had a similar thing with MBNA (although it was an ABBey card)

Got close to limit, bumped up the interest rate, it was what prompted my LBM, so i suppose i should thank them really

Now that card is at 0 they are offering my 0% BT's etc.

Another vote for HSBC and one for Abbey, both for their general incompetence. As soon as I've paid off my overdraft I'm closing my Abbey account. On the bright side I've never had any problems with Natwest who I'll be staying with unless something goes horribly wrong.
    Finally bought a home
