If you could close down one financial institution

If you could close down one financial institution which one would it be?
Hopefully to be bought out by another one so it doesn't affect too many jobs...
But thinking of the institutions as a person.....who would you like to have no more dealings with based on previous experiences?
and of course the reason why.....anyone been super nice/understanding?

  • MBNA definitely for me, they don't treat customers very well, my OH has got a credit card with them.

Halifax I can't stand them treat us like crap, phoned hospital and demanded to speak to a very very ill DH. Took his savings (ok maybe they were allowed to do that) and then emptied my sons account. Added interest while on DMP told lies I could keep going but they arn't worth it.

If you mean genuine financial institutions, then it would have to be HSBC for me. Although it's likely they won't want to have an dealings with me ever again either.;)

If you can include DCAs, then I'll come back in half an hour with a list. :p:rotfl:

    Welcome finance......

They pray on the most vunerable, lie and generally are just twits.

Currently in the middle of a ppi claim with them. they said ppi was compulsery, I hve it in writting that it was compulsery yet still they will not refund 100% even although the branch manager promised a 100% refund which is also detailed in myaccount notes that i had to SAR them for.

I know FSA is the only way forward but in times of much skintness i could really do with them just paying up.

Another vote for HSBC - hate them with an unhealthy passion!

Another vote (I know Im greedy) would be for Lloyds - they were being snotty with my dad when I was with him one time and he doesnt even have any debt they were just being awkward anyway he retires in October and is due 100k lump sum - he had a meeting with one of their advisors booked to discuss how to invest it and he cancelled it there and then - I know its only a drop in the ocean to them but it cheered him up no end - he just has to find somewhere else to invest it now (I have suggested the Bank Of Penguin but I dont think he will take me up on that!) x x x
