Rex,
I've checked both TCP/IP settings on the modem and the WIFi card and both are set to obtain and IP address and DNS address automatically.
Still no luck.Filiss0 -

Have you checked that the internet settings for the laptop are set as network connection (rather than dial up)?

Did you try chippy mintons suggestion? When the wizard starts, you can choose a selection to set up LAN settings.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Give firewall software a break. Where would we be without it?
We don't all rely on hardware firewalls.
