Anyone had a lightbulb moment with anything OS-related ?

I've been a bit of an OS all my life, but OH has been somewhat....er.... erratic with his money habits. He's a musician and has been a bit head in the sand when work is in short supply...
anyway, we went to Lidl the other day after I read about the money you could save on here, and when we got to the checkout and it was £38 instead of our usual £100 plus at sainsbury's, the look on his face was priceless! SInce then he's been a changed man. He's switching off lights and computers, making dinner with leftover veg, and fully embracing our economy drive. I'm so impressed!

So not only did you save £60 odd quid - you're saving more and more because of it!! Well done - if you do set up the School of Old Style training I will send mine for a refresher course. Mr Hq is quite happy to eat food from Lidl as long as he doesn't have to shop there. I obviously married the missing link in the royal family!0

LOL - he's just rung to ask if it's OK to go to the market and get end-of-day fruit and veg or if he should wait for the new month's grocery challenge! Maybe I will set up that training school!0

My OH has caught the OS bug (I hope for all your sakes it is really contagious
).
He has started making dinner pretty much every day & only buying what we really need when we go to the shops.
I rang OH from work today (he’s at home) & asked him to go to the market (open Thursdays & Saturdays) to get some fresh veg as we only had 1 onion and 2 potatoes left.
He refused as he is making curry tonight (& will use the onion) & we are going to my mum’s for tea tomorrow so won’t need any fresh veg. He said he will take me on Saturday so it lasts longer & we don’t waste it
.
Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.0 -
I'm not even going to comment!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for you both, I think Mr HQ is a closet snob!0 -
