Didn't realise you had a diesel - now not feeling so bad with the mileage thing!
sorry skint didnt know you didnt know (a tongue twister there ) yeah its a diesel so i think it gets more mpg anyway i have still to read up on how many mpg it's meant to get to know if i am close but i am driving more conciously to be honest and if you can do that it will make a difference
i figured out that i am saving approx 35 miles a week this way that is basically up and down to work once a week so that is something ...it also isnt taking me any longer to get home i honestly thought it would but it seems to be the same amount of time probably because i aint having to break as hard at roundabouts etc and dont feel as rushed ...and thats the best thing i dont feel as rushed i feel more calm about driving and since car accident no1 i have been a bit of a wreck in the motor scared incase someone crashes into me again i dont feel just as stressed about it ..or so i feel anyway0 -
Hi elan, Ive got diesels, always have always will but the cost of running a diesel car with the way fuel price are must be absolutely miniscule now. But I will never change because even today I believe you can beat Diesel reliability; plus I love the sound. I am obessesed with how much MPG my cars do. Im always experimenting with the variances in MPG. I think one of the biggest fuel savers is anticipation, not braking hard and allowing the engine to slow you down rather than the brakes where possible especially with a diesel. Ive got 2 big dieseled cars but get small car economy. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi el
sorry not been in touch having a stinking week being off sick is still hurting me financially its like a tidal wave.
Time to get my head out the sand pronto!
How are you doing?Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
Sounds like sensible reasoning El. From what you say the 4 year is an improved version of the course so that is reason enough to go for that. I can also understand you wanting to give yourself an "easing in" period which I am sure it would - as it sounds like your current experience and previous study will have prepared you well for the first year. So you can concentrate on developing those other skills.
How exciting! When would you start - September?0 -
HIya; if the "new" course is better from the employers point of view it may be better for you.
I don't think you need the first year to get used to it all but if you think you do then maybe it is best. It is hard getting back in after a break.
Your decision though!
(and I take it still no news from your son?)0 -
