Wow, I can't believe it but I got a £1 room :T at The Athenaeum Hotel (http://www.athenaeumhotel.com/) in Piccadilly for Friday 29th August. I'm shocked... that's the night for which we have been needing to get a hotel room in London as we are arriving back on the Eurostar very late that night and can't travel back up north until the next day. The hotel looks lovely too - very posh! I am used to Travelodges!

Finally made it into the site after ten minutes of loading....

Doesnt quite look like the dates suit me... but undoubtedly worth a look, that much is true. There are still a fair few availaible and i can see them selling out quickly.

Wish people wouldnt complain about it thought Yes, its an offer designed to hook people in, and yes, its unlikely people will get it but common sense says its a) worth a look and b) all of the pitfalls are explained by Martin! His suggestion of a 1p flight was meant in a kind of way. Sorry had to rant, some of the earlier posts which were moved were a bit negative though i guess debate is a positive thing!

Good luck hope people find some...

EDIT: hmm, i see the next night is full price or ten euro on some of these.... bum. Oh well still some nice looking deals!
