Excuse me for sounding stupid (I've been known for it!!). The sale starts at 8pm C.E.S.T (Central European Time) which is GMT + 2 hrs. So what time does the sale start?? Is it 10pm tonight ??

Any help gratefully appreciated !!Any fool can pay full price!!0 -
Anyone who got one of these and didn't turn up, could be charged an additional charge?? (Having a quick look at current t& c's),so cancel if booked and don't turn up?0

Excellent post steadynerve (long time lurker?
).
TBeckett100 addressed this recently also, whereby there may be an offer that might save you £5, but it will take you three hours work to save that £5!
Another example is the Sony MP3's that were advertised on the Grabbit board recently. Firstly, they did not acknowledge that these offers were found by MSEers (a BIG gripe of mine!). Secondly, the great £20 MP3 offer from Argos was already a week old, and there must have been around ten available in the whole country!
Sorry, completely OT, but just fancied a moan!

This is my point in a nutshell. The bargain hunt goes like this.
You,like thousands of others all over Europe and presumably the world , log onto a website at 7pm tonight where you don't know exactly what hotels where and when are being offered at £1 each.
You get lucky and manage to get a £1 hotel room.
You then try to find a cheap flight to get you there and back.
Presumably you're not going to want to stay for just one night so how much do the extra nights cost and will you know that in advance of booking your £1 night.A five star hotel in Shanghai is not going to be cheap.
Commonsense also tells you that no decent hotel is going unload valuable rooms on nights when people want them for £1 so what you're getting are the worst rooms on the worst nights.
But hey, other posters are right - take a chance and see what you get.
I just think to label this as a potential great bargain for people presumably on a limited budget is misleading.
You've gotta admire the marketing prowess of the people running this hotel booking site, however.
Entice a website that receives millions of hits by dipping some bait in the water and build up a massive database of email addresses while watching the feeding frenzy.
Sorry Martin - you site is great but I don't buy your explanation.
You've been had.0 -
This starts at 6pm GMT - 8pm central european time (2 hrs ahead), not 7pm as listed0

As Jenny has posted in the original title, the sale starts at 7pm tonight for us in the UK.kathrynvaughan wrote: »Excuse me for sounding stupid (I've been known for it!!). It does start at 6pm GMT, but we're currently observing British Summer Time (BST) which is GMT+1, so the sale will be at 7pm BST, which is what your clocks should be showing if you remembered to change them a few weeks ago! This starts at 6pm GMT - 8pm central european time (2 hrs ahead), not 7pm as listed

But we are now in BST,so I think you'll find 7pm is correct!0
