Just thought id let you all know i managed to get a bottle of the "suddeny mamade glamour" from Lidl, and i have to say when your first spray it, it does smell like coco mamdemosile, howwever it doesnt have the staying power or chanel and i dont think it smells like it after a while on your skin, BUT for £3.99 its a great everyday perfume and i will def be buying again.

My sister keeps bugging me to buy it! She reckons they're sold out everywhere (I saw lots of bottles in my LIDL the other day).

I suppose at that price, you can always re-spray in the ladies later on (maybe in the cubicle if you don't want others to see the bottle) ;).

And TJ Hughes is maybe another option for cheaper perfume, though I wasn't that impressed by their "closing down sale" last week.

Having a read through and enjoying. Intrigued about Perfume Parlour! (Do they still do the Chanels then?). Might treat myself to a few new ones.

One "cheaper" way to get Chanel scent is to buy testers. I have a few Pure Parfums that come in the "etched" tester bottles, bought from ebay. They are incredibly strong and last forever, though.

Edit: Just read that UK ebay banned the sale of testers :( Could try the US?

Another question..how does Candyscent compare to Perfume Parlour?

Re LIDL, again: Here's another link from that blog comparing Suddenly D'or to Ghost Luminous. There's another Suddenly called Fleurs but not sure about that one. http://bonkersaboutperfume.blogspot.com/2009/11/lidl-suddenly-dor-swiss-ghost-story.html

Not even sure if you still get them as the post is a few years old!

Perfume Parlour do still sell Chanel types. If you look at their list they are listed, but do not have a "notes similar to" beside them. You should, however, be able to work out which they are by the new names though.

My Chanel dupes are from Jean-Yves. I have Coco Mademoiselle, Coco and Chance. I have smelled the No5 too and they are all fantastic, and have great staying power.

I bought several of their male perfume oils:

    Forever (Eternity Aqua)
    Bogile (Bulgari)
    Issomist (Issey Miyake)

They all smell similar to the real deal, though I'd say they lack their 'subtly' - elements of the scents seem either too strong or just not as pleasant as the genuine articles.

On the whole, though, they smell nice and are good value for money. :money:
  • I use the Madame Glamour perfume from Lidl. I would love to like the Chanel perfumes but I don't get on with them at all. I find they smell of wee, even on someone else. The Lidl version is one I'd certainly recommend. My DH loves it and he's not usually that interested in my perfumes (I have a lot of them). I've used Perfume Parlour for years, I buy from their ebay shop. Daisy is my favourite and I have a few of them (3ml oils) in different handbags, in the car etc. It lasts for hours.

My signature scent is Cristobal by Balenciaga. It's been discontinued and I'm distraught! I've been wearing it for 12 years and I'm down to my last half bottle. If anyone knows of a similar perfume I'd be a very happy bunny :)

ETA, I'd also like to find a smell-alike for Jil Sander Sun :)

    Hi Loulou!

I'm the blogger in question and on my hunt for Suddenly Madame Glamour in my local Lidl stores I have still seen the Suddenly D'Or that I think is like the Ghost perfume and Suddenly Fleurs, which didn't strike me as being like anything in particular. So while I don't think they have been discontinued as such, stores seem to vary quite a lot in terms of what deliveries they get.

Has anyone tried the White Musk type?

I need to add to my repeat order and thinking of others I might like.
Flowerbomb type is definitely on the list again - love it!

They seem to have quite a few new ones up on the list too. :)

Has anyone used Milton Lloyld for mens fragrances?

I am interested in Bondage Hommes. It received 47 positive reviews with all but two people giving it 5 stars but I do worry because it is only site to rate the fragrance
