for not a very MSE price, a shop in the bullring in brum has PSPs in stock. but are only selling them as a bundle with 2 games of your choice for £250. not a particularly cheap price, but not too overpriced either - if you're desperate.
not sure what the name of the shop is. is on the ground floor, opposite the new st station entrance0 -

I think the Exchange rate they used is wrong, todays rate is approx £1 = $1.70

I bought my son a PSP from Argos a few weeks ago (£179.95 value pack) because:
a)It was close to where I live
b)Argos offer an additional insurance at a reasonable price, should the product fail.
Sadly, after 2 weeks, the PSP gave up the ghost - my son tripped and fell playing it. No problem, I thought, I'll just return it and get another on the insurance - 12 months accidental damage is included in the policy.
Not so easy. The "insurance" will refund me in Argos vouchers. Sadly, no Argos store has PSP's stock, so I can't spend the vouchers on another PSP.
The Argos website, however, still offers home delivery of the PSP - but won't accept Argos vouchers in payment.
I've emailed Argos to request a solution to this problem - no great surprise that I haven't had a reply.
What really hacks me off about this is the enthusiasm with which they sell the insurance (and trust me, if you have a clumsy teenager, it's a good buy) and yet their arrogance in just ignoring emails, when continuing to sell the product.
The real stupidity is that, had they dealt with the problem in a reasonable way, they would have had a customer for life, now all they have is a really pi**ed off customer who won't make the same mistake again.
I'd welcome anyone who can explain why ignoring a problem in this way is the correct customer solution..........0 -
Hi Nemo
Sorry, can't help you too specifically, but, try the ring & reserve service to check stock levels of your local stores.
I rang and reserved mine late Thursday night at about 2350, and picked it up from my store Friday morning (last one left). I had phoned the store directly earlier that day to ask about it and they said no stock but phone back the next week. !! The other local store I tried still had no stock. Cashier said they were due a large delivery of them this coming week.

Hi,
Havent read all of this thread so appologies if this is a re-run but anyone that is NOT a littlewoods customer can order the case for the PSP for £9.99 for FREE as they give you £10.00 to spend when you join and the case is reduced to a tenner.
Very simple task, few questions and hey bingo. Order on it's way.

Managed to get a PSP in HMV in Brum yesterday. was a fairly good deal. For £250 I got the value pack, any 2 games, underworld film umd and a cable transfer pack (normally £20 - but wouldn't have paid that). they still had some in stock. also doncaster and rotherham argos had them in stock, so def worth checking your local argos. basically just ask in every store, as HMV didn't advertise having them in stock.
also got a book of money off vouchers - eg £5 off a psp game etc..0 -
BEWARE!
Of buying your psp in Virgin.
I did and I had 3 dead pixels..I took it back the next day and they refused me a refund or exchange..they said that Sony had told them the psp had to have a minimum of 4 dead pixels before they could exchange it.....
They gave me a number to ring Sony and complain so I rang Sony and thought they would get me to send the psp to them try and repair...costing me even more money.
To my suprise they said Virgin were talking rubbish and they are sending me a new psp to my door by courier!I Love Gwar.0 -
thedoors - so whats the deal with dead pixels - i.e. will sony replace even if you just have one?0
-
Yep they will replace even if u have one. If you do only have one and you worried, say you have 3+.
The courier guy isnt actually going to test the psp just pick it up and give me a new one.I Love Gwar.0
