The Student Tariff does end on the 28th Feb, but is valid for four years so you have a month to get a move on

For the family I dont think you can combine YP 120 with 1000 X-NET Off-Peak, as it needs to be two YP's or premier I think.

ive had good experiences with the cashback scheme from onestopphoneshop...in fact just got one of the cheques in the post! Also, the k750i DOES have a 2mp camera...its really good...similar to the w800i, which i have..

the £100 buyback has been extended onto some newer models for this week only! K750i, 6230i, 6680!! They all get 100 quid in credit on contract when you trade in an old handset...

Hi craig_40. I've been reading these forums for some time now and thought it was time to join the crowd! Thanks for the great info you have provided regarding the trading in of phones and how much people could gain from it. I just wanted to ask your opinion on how much you think I could get for a Panasonic X70 - I think it still works!?! :-s

Hey everyone, couldnt help but fall into this convo...just to give you a heads up i work for Orange Retail and this is the way (if your a student) to get yourself a good deal)
Student Deal yeh- 1000 text and 120 mins - £25 right?
    WELL!!
If you go in store theres a scheme called 'Buyback' where if you trade in a handset we give you money on your account for free! but don't be so quick to trade in your last mobile phone tho, go and search in the sock draw for a proper old brick, as long as if turns on, orange are happy. At the mo (with the january sales!) there are some models that allow us to put "£100" free credit on your account! (D500, V3, Z500, C550i...other handsets have a trade in value of £50 not £100) with the trade in of an old handset to us!

So for a start you have bacically 4 months covered payment free!!!
    BUT THERES MORE!

Another 'trick' is to refer!! someone mentioned a page or so ago about their dad being on orange. what you do is go into an orange shop and somewhere about there should be a little card with a big '£75' printed on it, grab one and fill it in with your dads phone number and the address (make sure you do this just before you take out the new contract, its the only time you can do it!). That referal card will make you an extra £50 pound richer too!! not only that, but it makes your dad £25 as well! Obviously, its not cash, its 'credit' on your bill!

    So heres a summary...
    Student Deal w/ 1000 texts 120 mins @ £25 per month
    --MINUS!--
    £150

Work that out in months and it means you effectivly get 6 MONTHS FREE!!!!

....but theres also another trick (if your greedy!) If you then 'refer' people to orange using the card i was talking about you can get another 50 quid for nothing! making it 8 months free!!

Hope ive made sense, all i said is legit, its just orange havent cottoned on to it yet. ooops.

    that's interesting..

I'm on O2 and i get 100 xnet mins and 400 txts for £19.99/month. Try ringing the call centre as they always have discresion to give better deals than what is advertised.
If that's an online deal, you should be able to negotiate a better one at renewal time. I got 100 xnet mins/500 text for £15/upgraded handset this month, on a non-student deal. even if you are several months into a deal, it can sometimes pay to call O2 and try and reduce your costs.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.

Hi, I went into my local orange shop today to check this out, seems a pretty good deal. Anyway, the guy in the shop told me that they only do the recommend a friend offer on your plan 200 and above, which is £30/month. They also seem to have decreased the buy back amount to a maximum of £50.
Is this happening everywhere or is the guy I spoke to just a rogue agent?

    hello

i got the student contract in december and remember seeing that I get £50 credit...

what does this actually mean? I have not seen this mention on my bill?

Also I have had problems transferring music on to the W800i I recieved with the new contract... most of the time music will not be there when you unplug the phone and other times you will be listening to one track and it will start playing the beginning of another track from a different artist but still have the artist you will be listening to on screen... has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks

    James
