welll it's normall for vauxhalls because they all do it EBC well all the newish ones
it depend on how hard you pust the pedel on how they feel and it takes some time to get used to them.
you hit it quick they feel hard ,pust it slowy they feel soft is the computer you feel not the brakes (fly by wire)

i dont think it should be normal for the brake pedal to go to the floor in any car.

OK here goes! He couldn't get a reading from one of them (he didn't know how to do it) so he cleaned the sensors really well. They were very dirty.

Then came in and said he didn't know how to get a reading!! But since he has cleaned the sensors things have changed quite dramatically. I have printed out instructions from the web exactly how to get the readings.

Anyway, we are still getting the humming but only between the speeds of 30 and 40 miles an hour. Drop below 30 it stops go above and it starts again. Above 40 it stops again. Weird!

Also I drove for around 6 miles and I didn't get the hard spot at all when braking. So he is going to do the actual test tomorrow now I have printed out the whole instructions.

I am really pleased with the results so far! Hoping we can just get that final bit sorted. I will post as soon as we have results.

    Cheers.
