27th Aug is a good date for me (at the moment!)

Now all I have to do is persuade OH that "meeting a bunch of strangers off the internet in a hotel" is not as seedy as that sounds!
  • Hi , hoping to be on holiday then, hubby determined to go somewhere for few weeks end of August. I think he is hoping MIL will contribute:D

Errrr isn't the 27th August a Wednesday:confused: there is a Saturday the 23rd or 30th, i believe 23rd is the bank holiday weekend too so most places bump up their prices for bank holiday weekends.
Life is like a game of Snakes & Ladders, i almost made it to the top but now i'm at the bottom again and its a very long ladder to the top. I had it all and now its gone

:o:o:o OOPS Sorry i was looking at sept not August, well it was early this morn:p

Best make it the 30th( i think this was the wkend BLTN & WDIAG had in mind anyway) then,as you are quite right EW they do tend to bump the price up for b/h.

Also even going for the 30th you may find problems finding available accomodation due to it being the bank holiday week as you may find places booked up for week long stays.

Something to watch out for when you decide on a date and looking for a place to stay should it be Travel lodge or Premier Travel inn places is alot of these places have unofficial rules (as in would deny it to the public) on minimum stays. Its quite easy to get 1 night stays during the week but come the weekend they often say they are booked up unless you book a 2 or on bank holidays a 3 night stay. The way round it especially with Travel inn is to book for 2 nights then when you check in just cancel your 2nd night and just pay for the 1.
