The general date so far seems to be the 30th aug. It's getting to see how many can manage that date. So far we have come up with a premier inn 26 mile south of birmingham. Unless someone can think of another where its fair to most.

  • I'm a little concerned about what EW says about having to stay/pay for two nights.

Can anyone confirm this please? no way i could afford that.

Now all I have to do is persuade OH that "meeting a bunch of strangers off the internet in a hotel" is not as seedy as that sounds!

Funnily, i'd not even thought of that:eek:

I've just checked the Birmingham Central East one online & the cost for August Bank Holiday doesn't seem to be any different from a weekend in June (I just picked that for comparison). I also took an online booking for one night as far as the credit card stage, & nothing came up about a minimum booking of 2-3 days - I couldn't see anything on the site about that either. I've just e-mailed them for info on their group booking service (it's available if you book 5 rooms or more), as they might offer a discount rate. I should hear something by Tuesday, so I'll post here when I get it.
  • Thanks WDIAG :T

    Hi Bltn,

From our "limited" experience of travelling this little Island, Friday and Saturday evenings are always the quietest and the cheapest;:j :j business people don't tend to be away from home over the weekend.:D Neither have we ever had any trouble just booking a single night, or just booking it for a few hours come to that.:o :o
