Just looked at T&C's, which states "An Open Return allows the return part of you journey to be flexible." Outward journey therefore has to be on date booked (unless of course you pay to have it changed).0

Thanks NAR, although when I click on standard open return, it says:
"CONDITIONS STANDARD OPEN
DESCRIPTION
Fully flexible Standard class single or return ticket.
Single journey must be on the date on the ticket and completed by the following day. Outward and Return portions of a return ticket can be made within one calendar month. Reservations are not essential but are recommended for longer journeys. The outward portion of a Standard Open Return ticket is valid only in conjunction with the unused return portion""The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

Hi there!
I have been trying to book a couple of the train tickets using the link provided by it wasn't successful. After I complete the payment details, it came back with an error message "Authorisation has been declined". I have tried using different cards but it still didnt work (hmm..i am sure that I have enough money in the bank to purchase those tickets!). I wanted to purchase a few tickets from salford to sheffield at different dates but the system doesnt seem to allow me to do so. My friend has also tried to book the tickets for me using her credit cards but it didnt work as well. Can anyone help?
Thanks.0 -
I give up, was looking for a london to edinburgh but they are pricing at £192. Strange how you can call up and order then for £25 return0

hi nath192,
i have been trying since 2pm today! My friend just booked herself 2 tickets, and it worked! Are you trying to book the tickets to sheffield as well? do you think it might be because of the journey itself or we just can't book different tickets for different dates for the same journey?
