It's ambiguous - what exactly is "midnight on 1st September"? I read it as the beginning of 1st September rather than the end, in which case the offer ended exactly when I predicted it would (see my earlier postings). The fact that it appears to have been extended is very annoying, not because I got it wrong but because if I'm not careful I'll be booking even more train tickets! :doh:Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Hi there,
I'm the OP - The original email from FirstGroup (Scotrail) says:
"50% discount off rail travel
Book online between 25 August - 1 September and receive a 50% discount when you spend £40 or more."
Which implies you can still book today...0 -
You definitely can book today and you can book travel on 1st December.
Can someone please confirm one or two things for me. Family are coming over to visit in the middle of December, so I want to book open return tickets from Gatwick to Dover. I can book them for 1st December (the 50% discount shows when I get to the final page - I have been online and tried it).
Can I go to, say, Dover station to change the date on the outward (Gatwick-Dover) ticket or do I need to go to Gatwick to do it?
The change date fee is £5 - I take it that will be for each ticket, or will it be for both?0 -
I have just booked a return from York to Edinburgh for £13!! brill.
Make sure you check the Single tickets though - as this worked out cheaper for me.0 -

Unfortunately, a technical problem with the FirstScotRail promotion meant you were not offered the 50% discount when trying to book a journey.
This issue has now been resolved, so you can now make the booking using the link provided in the promotional email. You will see the 50% discount applied to the total cost of the journey.
To take advantage of this offer all bookings need to be made before midnight tonight (1st Sept).
Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.0 -
I think it's stopped working againAnna :beer:0

still working for me. However could someone please clarify - I need to make 1 return journey in October, but I don't know the dates yet - so my best option seems to be an open return as this is the cheapest ticket where you do not have to make your outward journey on the date of the ticket.
So if I book it as 01 October the ticket is valid for 1 month and I can make the outward and return journey on any day in October (as long as I use the return part of the ticket before the end of October? This is my understanding of it reading the terms and conditions - can anyone confirm if this is correct please?thanks!
By the way for saver and supersaver tickets - re changing your dates of travel it says "If the outward date is to be changed, cancel and rebook." - so it looks like you will need to be certain of your outward date if you are buying these tickets, although you will be able to change your return date (for a £5/£10 charge?)."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

of everything that comes along their way."
