Royal Bank of Scotland in Trouble?

I'm a customer at RBS, what does it mean for me?
Nothing.
None of your financial dealings with the bank will be affected. The same is true for any customers of NatWest, Ulster Bank and insurer Direct Line which are all owned by RBS.
"This is not a customer issue, it's a shareholder issue," said Justin Urquhart Stewart from Seven Investment Management.
The same will be true for the customers of other banks if, as many analysts believe, they do the same in the coming months.
I haven't ventured past my local branch today but everyone queueing up to withdraw all of their cash on the back of this announcement needs a slap.0 -
The time to panic is when your motgage lender , bank manager etc turn up on your doorstep and ask for their money ...............now!
a little education sadly seems to go no where0 -
I don't even have any RBS accounts; however with all of this panic, I feel I need to join the RBS queues and attempt to close an account anyway!
Run for the hills!!!0 -

Needs a slap???, more like it's those who believe nothing is wrong or will not be in the future need a reality check..;)0 -
On the other hand even the Shareholders are being dictated to by the bank
Say you currently own 5% of RBS shares, then you'll be offered 5% of the new ones and will need to take them if you want to maintain your position.

Britain's second-biggest bank is refusing to confirm or deny reports it is planning to ask shareholders for billions of pounds in an attempt to shore up its finances.
But if there is nothing to hide, why don't they just say yes we are going to the shareholders.
Dont you think people have heard this all before, obviously people are going to withdraw, why shouldn't they??? Their own bank cant answer a simple question0 -
I'm surprised no one see's the bigger picture, all of this has been planned.
Take a look at Egg, they get rid of 160,000 customers due to a petty reason such as credit ratings, and now hey presto they just announce that thousands of jobs could be axed.
come on people wake up and smell the coffee0 -
im a RBS account holder and start of the week i wanted to increase my overdraft slightly to cover some expenses and was offered up to £1600, iv not got a perfect credit history and i would have thought if they were short of cash they wouldn't be increasing overdrafts. But who knows time will tell:j Stopped smoking - 2nd Jan 09:j0

Nice to see the Banking Troll doing his rounds again. Time for another poll like the moronic one you last set up regarding faith in the Banks? The one that initially only accepted negatives as an answer!
Still I'd better be careful ... after all you wrote to Martin when you were laughed at? But I notice it hasn't stopped the puerile stream of negatives culled from any source, and plagiarised onto here mainly as your own views.
Fortunately your jaundiced views don't count for much. No comments, I notice, regarding the fact RBS shares are up 5.19% on the day.If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
