Hubby was telling me last night about a lady at work who just bought a Garmin (she loves it). She went to the shop to buy a Tom Tom but the assistant told her he'd sold 11 in the past 2 weeks and ALL 11 had been returned with faults. Sorry, I don't know the model, but I thought I'd mention it anyway...
Dont beleive the BS sales assistants spout off, they probably had targets or more profit in the Garmin0 -
As far as i'm aware Garmin are more reliable than tomtom. Plus if something does go wrong i'd put my money on Garmin sorting it out, much better. But tomtom does have the mapshare feature! decisions, decisions!!!0

Sorry to have posted this on the other sat-nav forum as well: It's Christmas eve and I need to find a sat-nav today (so that rules out online shopping). What are the best deals for about £100-120 available on the high street?0

TomTom 1 GB V3 should be available at Currys for £1190 -
And this beats the Route66 and the Garmins that I've seen at Halfords for more or less the same price?0

The TomTom has a good reputation, but I cannot say that the other are bad, because I've no experience of them.0 -
I purchased the Tom Tom One V3 from comet on thursday at £129.99 with a free sony 1gb MP3 player worth £30.00.
I then found out that Currys were cheaper at £119.99 and comet pricematched this and they have now reduced it to £119.99 and they arent advertising the mp3 player online but were in store. The system is easy to use and is very good the only downside is the holder falls off the windscreen but I had read reports regarding this previously and am going to order a better one from ebay.
Dont forget quidco either even if you reserve to collect in store !!0 -

How about this one that allows full postcode searches and is delivered with speed camera data - you can buy an update card for a years subscription for £10 from John Lewis?

£99.99 from Amazon with free delivery AND it includes a £10 accessory voucher too.
I have looked elsewhere and I don't think you'll get cheaper.Failure is not in falling down but in not getting back up again0 -
