I don't understand what shouting at the letting agent will acheive. Does the OP expect them to call the manufacturer instead? What's the point? They'd have to phone the OP to find out when he was in to meet the engineer. Just another ear for the chinese whispers to pass through.

If you want something doing, doing it yourself!

  • Yes, I am an Adult, and I can get it sorted, and the fact that i am in work, is my fault, even though, your situation would have been exact same as mine if the Manufacturers passed on my details like they did yours and Engineer would have been out and sorted, but there you go.

But, sorry to everyone for getting your backs up as i seemed to have for some reason but I am the kinda person that if I pay the Value for Something, I expect from New, for it to work, and it didn't, same as if i bought a TV, I would expect it to work from new, not having to phone the Manufacturer myself to sort it when it was the Shop who Sold it

Again, think Ill think twice about posting Issue's, as unless its a Matter of life or Death like posts i have done in the past, you get slated for it

Thats all I was asking, basically who is it thats Accountable and I cant shout at, cos in the end, a good shout can solve loads of Issues :)

I read it back, and did seem like I made too much of it, sorry, just with the Builders giving me the Manufacturers Number, and the Manufacturers messing my details, and the Landlord owns the place and the Agent Rented it to us, its like a cross rods as to who should get the Ear bashing that will relieve my Tension :)

I moved into my house and my brand new oven made a terrible noise. I called the manufacturer, they did pass on my details to the engineer who came out the next day because I was home. He had to order a part, he came back a week later and fitted it.

Ah, yes. I think I remember your thread - "My Oven HELL!!!" ;)

I don't think you've got anyone's back up here. More that we've got yours up.

You just didn't get the answer you wanted. I don't feel bad about that. This is an excellent forum with impartial advice available to all. If you want the answer you were seeking, then I'd just ask a mirror.

Go and shout at people if you like. It won't acheive anything any quicker. Speak to the engineer, get the dishwasher fixed.

I am at the point of hiring a Gun, going round and shooting the Woman, and then saying, its a new Gun, Little problems always happens :)
Be careful, I think there's a law against saying things like this.
Although in jest, it probably comes under some "Incitement to Violence Act"

You might end up hand washiing dishes in the prison kitchen for 1200 inmates!

I picked up an almost new dishwasher for £40 from an advert in my local newsagents' window - the family were moving and the new place had one and the people moving in had their own, great condition, full working order, and I'm not going to worry if it goes wrong as I've had 2 years great service out of it. Plenty of people are always moving in and out of accommodation and need to sell good white goods quickly - If you picked up one like this you could just take it with you when you move if you like or leave it if you don't need it where you're going?
  • Cheers everyone for your help

As for Doozergirl, think ill let you come and soak in my dishwasher when its fixed, calm you down a bit :O

i think most people, like myself, are doubting that you rented THAT place purely on the knowledge that it had a dishwasher.
if the roof was leaking, or the gas was disconnected or you rented it furnished and it was unfurnished, i could understand how you would be annoyed and wanting your money back.

what do you think you should get? a dishwasher is £200 to buy brand new, you have had 3 months of no use of it, possibly £2 per month compensation?

if it annoyed you as much as you say it has, you would have got it sorted in month 1, not month 3.

Mmm, yes. Probably a good idea. I've been stressed over my oven problem for months now. Do you know, I even threatened to shoot an estate agent over the whole debacle?

Lord knows what I would have done if the dishwasher wasn't under warranty. The safety of my entire street would have been under question! No doubt the police would have been called and the entire area evacuated.
