Instant gravy granules are quite good only 1syn on both red & green for 4 tsps. The lean mince sounds good but I always boil it for a while first then let it cool and skim any settled fat off. The mashed potatoe sounds great, you appear to have plenty of syns left so go for it and enjoy

Have I got this right? Batchelors Pasta & Sauce is free except the carbonara one? I've got a packet of cheesy brocolli which I'm dying to eat!

Please tell me I didn't dream it? :o

I'm doing okay today I think - so far I have had:

    Shreddies and mullerlight

    A mushroom

A bit of leftover rice from last night with some lea and perrins sprinkled over it

    An apple

I'm going to make fajitas for dinner I think, but will probably just eat the filling and not bother with a tortilla.

I might need your help with food for tomorrow - I need to have a red day as I have a turkey breast joint to use, and I'm thinking of making a roast dinner of sorts, with a variety of roast veg (sprayed with fry-light and bunged in the oven.

Or shall I have a green day and have the turkey as a healthy extra?

Hahaha, no.....it was just an odd thing to eat! I looked in the fridge and thought 'I know, I'll have a mushroom'!

    Weird. :o

I ought to confess that I was already cooking the pasta and sauce :rotfl: so I'm glad you confirmed it is free! It's gorgeous. :T

Oh I've also had a jaffa cake and 2 chocolate buttons! Mustn't forget to count those.

Snaggles - yep, the broccoli one is free on Green, 22.5 on a Red. Just count the milk you use as an a choice.

Green day for me today. Did a red day yesterday and hardly ate any of my dinner, I just didn't enjoy it (not sure why!!) It was 2 smoked gammon rounds with a salad. I kind of didn't feel hungry, but it also just tasted a bit 'dull'.

    Anyway, for me today

    2 ounces fruit and fibre (2 x b)
skimmed milk (1/2 an 'a' - had about 1/4 pint)

    2 penguins - 10 syns
1 packet crisps - 6 syns (whoops, but then I was well under yesterday ;) )

    beans
    quorn sausages

    pasta n sauce
    skimmed milk (a)

Len - I keep a stash of Batchelor's flavoured rice in the cupboard. As well as being fab for microwaving for lunch (sometimes I add a can of chick peas or butter beans), they can be used as a base for stuff like a biriani or a paella type dish. when I do a green day chilli, I use pork mince rather than beef mince because you are allowed more on a b choice - you can have 4 ounces so I quarter it up when I serve it.

For red days, with a casserole and the vegetables, I usually use both my b choices for potatoes and do roast potatoes in the same way as SW chips, but just chunks rather than chips.

I eat very little fish as well.

It's too warm now to make soup, but the bags of broth mix are great with potatoes, leeks, tomatoes plus other vegetables you might like and a mixed bean and tomato soup is even quicker to make.

Just shout if you need any ideas - we'll rustle up something between us!

Any after effects from the undercooked chicken last night - I hope not!

I enjoyed the pasta sooo much more knowing it was free :T And I struggle a bit to remember to eat my HEAs so it's a good way to get some extra calcium into my diet.

Forgot to say as well that I did the school run this morning and then walked up to town - I didn't get home until about 11-ish, so thats a good couple of hours walking.

Hiya snaggles I have just checked with my food directory and nearly all Batchelors pasta & sauce mixes are free and the carbonara Is 0.5 syns on a green day but as Keren has pointed out they are very high on a red day. I love the way you keep track on your jaffa cake & choc buttons, I dare not have anything like that as I am a real sucker for ice cream so I save some of my syns for a skinny cow choc chip ice cream in the evenings while watching Emmerdale, Yummy
