Bertie is lovely! Cannot believe someone would abandon him...that is sooo sad but at least he is with you now in a nice home! I have a cat, Buzzby, people say he is a maine coon but I don't have any paperwork...he has just had his 3rd birthday last month as weighed 8kg a year ago and think he is now even bigger...vet is gonna get really annoyed when he has to have his jabs next month! Kept on telling me to put him on a diet but he isn't fat, just big! Glad Bertie is eating better now poor thing...I lurve cats!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -
We have a very understanding vet.
When we got him he only weighted 3.5kg which was under weight. When we took him for his jabs in Jan, he came in ar 6.5kgbut again he is not fat, just huge!!!
Our vet just seemed to think that it was winter weight!! Shame I can't use that excuse :rotfl:
I know someone with 2 maine coon's and they are beautiful and very big!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I never realised how much I could become attached to my cat! I wasn't really a cat person before getting Buzz but I ADORE him and couldn't be without him! He is my baby...last summer I went to Glastonbury and had to take him to a cattery for the first time
He loved it as had lots of fuss and attention from the owner! He also had a special makeover where they gave him a shampoo (took 2 of them!) and had his ears cleaned, claws tidyied up etc and they said they filled loads of nappy sacks full of hair as he is sooo hairy and fluffy! His fur was so smooth afterwards, I could not stop stroking him! Sorry, I could talk about my cat all day! xxx

That's ok, confirmed cat lover here.
We can't leave ours in a cattery as we worry he would think we are leaving him. We did a car boot the first year we had him and I swear he panicked, he didn't know who to followed around first!
I think his orginal owners moved and didn't take him with them.
We have never been brave enough to bath him, he gets all grumpy if you try to dry in when he comes in wet... we even got hissed at once!!!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
I hated leaving Buzz, he has been their twice now and I am sure he is well looked after but I missed him like mad...probably moreso than my DD! They were installing webcams last time so people could login and see their cats over the internet! Mad! I too wouldn't be brave enough to bath Buzz as it would probably look like a scene from Edward Scissorhands or something as he would hack me to bits!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0

Hiya - thanks for the password but I think we should maybe be a bit more cautious about posting the weekly passwords on here - as a few people have pointed out, it could be a breach of..um.....copyright?....and we could end up getting the website in trouble and the thread closed down.
Sorry if I'm sounding bossy, it's just that I really rely on this thread for motivation and I would be off the diet within days if I couldn't come on here for support.
I agree with that, the consultant was on about it ( copyright)the other day. Perhaps the folks who have posted could delete them. It only takes one person to report and the thread may disappear.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hi snaggles thank you for your nice warm welcome, Its great reading the daily entries, everyone sounds so happy-go-lucky. It takes me back 14 years to when I was a S/W member. I reached my goal and then I became one of S /W consultants it was hard work but fun
. I was also working as a nurse so I had enough to keep me busy. I only worked 4 years for S/W But I enjoyed it, I found it was a bit too much with my nursing as well as a home to run. Anyway I am now retired and ashamed to say I have put my weight back on
, I know, I should know better, but there you are it happened, now I have to start over again  but, I am sure I will enjoy every minuet with such a great bunch of girls. During my time with S/W I collected lots of recipe's, they are not from S/W books they are what I and My fellow members put together. The recipe's are based on the Red & Green plan, syn and syn free.We kept the recipe's in folders in class for members to read or copy, Would I be aloud to put some of these recipe's in some days, they may be of help with weight lose, some are very simple they don't take a lot of time or effort to make up.
If there is any particular recipe someone wants I may be able to find it.
Have a good day. bubsy0 -
Im trying very hard today.
So far I have had on my red day
poached egg, grilled lean bacon, tinned tomatoes, 2 WM nimble (HEB)
grilled chicken salad, mullerlight and strawberries.
I dont know what to have for tea, I have some lean mince in, I could make a savoury mince and syn some mashed potato. What is the best way to make the mince, I usually use instant gravy, garden peas, carrots and lots of seasoning.Any advances on this method?0
