My AutoAid renewal is now £32, an increase from £29 last year.

Just a quickie that M+S insurance gives top wack RAC cover for free0

Thought you might like to know that I rang the RAC to cancel my renewal (due 02/02/06) and they instantly knocked £30 off the price. They still aren't the cheapest mind.

After shopping around I've just bought my car insurance from Zurich. Thier Basic Compehensive is the cheapest for me anyway (£172), but
1. After £90 cashback through TopCashBack it is just £82
2. For the same price I've choosen Car Solutions that comes with free Green Flag Roadside assistance (plus free courtesy car and Replacement Keys cover).
The only minor disadvantage is £350 volutary excess instead of £250 ...0 -

AutoAid and GEM - are they two different companies? Have GEM put their prices up over the last 12 months?
I'm pretty sure they're different.
I switched from GEM last year as their prices have increased considerably every year. I have used their services a couple of times and can't fault them.
They both use the insurance route and local garages, so I can't imagine there being much difference except the price.

I am looking at getting the RAC breakdown cover the blue badge holders. I have seen their cover recommended for people with disabilties.
they have quoted me £110 for joint cover. I asked if I could use the code mentioned earlier in this thread, or tesco points, but the sales rep said no to both saying it's already a discounted service.
I am wondering if it's worth it - does anyone else use this service?
or would we be better off getting 2 individual m'ships of autoaid @ £32?
thanks

Hi all, can anyone point me in the direction of the Policy details for AutoAid. I understand they don't have website, but I would like to print out the cover details before purchasing!
Thanks0 -

I have had to be recovered twice and each time waited approx 45 mins (once at 5.30pm on a week day, once at 8.00 am on a weekday) for the recovery vehicle to arrive, and was then delivered back - once to my home, once straight to my local garage.
I then paid the recovery vehicle driver and got a receipt. They then invoice you and you send off your invoice with a claim form. Each time I had a cheque from Autoaid within 7 days of claiming - no hassle. The second time, I had to wait for the invoice and they do like you to claim within 14 days. I phoned Autoaid on day 13 and advised them I had not received the invoice and they put a note on the claim.
