Hi there. Thanks so much for sharing information on how to get the required cable for our AEG Induction Hob 68001KF-N which arrived today. Christmas dinner still hangs in the balance. We have no wiring connection details!! Does anyone know which terminal connects to which wire? There are 5 numbered terminals - two single terminals, a blank and a joined termnial. Does anyone know which is live and which is nuetral? Without knowing there is a risk of connecting it wrongly and damaging the unit. Please help we have the whole family coming on Christmas day!!!!
Thanks in anticipation.0 -

Did you get the hob from a retailer? The cable should have come already connected to the hob.
Try 01753 219899 and ask for technical support. Should still get them today.

New one on me! Why would so many people be searching for the correct type if that were the case? Never connected a hob yet that came with it's cable attached.
Perhaps the information is in the manual, but the OP doesn't know (with all due respect) the correct interpretation of it? Multiple terminals with links usually means it can be used on 3 phase systems (lots of Europe!) as well as single phase (UK). Working out which terminal is which can be a pain - even for us "pros".
EDIT: Just downloaded the manual for a look - tells you sweet FA about connection HOWEVER, this is telling.
"In the event of single-phase or two-phase connection......"
Suggests it is a pan-european model and can work on 1, 2 and 3 phase supplies. It also suggests that the linked connections are the live - (single phase in UK). Are there no markings or indications at all on/next to the terminals?
Can you take a pic - stick it on imageshack or photobucket and post a link? We can probably tell you in seconds if we can see the connections.0 -
I wired one of these up a few months ago, it's not in the manual, and I can't remember anything except it wasn't anything special, ie a fairly standard hob terminal block, needs a heavy cable as it draws alot of power, nearly 8kw I think it was, and needs ventilation at the front for the fan.0

- my bad! I'm just a little sceptical that it was necessary to procure a new cable for a new hob direct from the supplier. Why did it not come with one if its special? If it didn't - Customer Services on the number I posted earlier who should also b able to provide the necessary "how to" information..
Yes I looked at the instructions myself and drew the conclusion that it should come fitted as the book doesn't tell you how too. Just goes to show never make assumptions and I fell into the trap again myself!! Doh!

OK guys - no luck with AEG depsite a number of attempts. Please find link below (gaps to allow posting) of photo on 'photobucket' as suggested (i'm new to using that too so let me know if there are problems). Please can you tell me which terminal the live should go to and which the neutral should go to. The earth is terminal 6 (if I've got that right).
Thank you so much. we might yet have a christmas dinner!:rudolf:
