    Hi! Just joined this site...
I bought The Lloydspharmacy Hayfever Reliever and Ionising Air Purifier £21.98 12/06/09, I used it 19:00PM,
I found it hard to use, wiped my nose of course, stuck the probes up my nose and the sneezing began... terrible-i tried about 4 times to try and have my "FIRST" session!
I just kept sneezing and sneezing!
But then finally managed to have my first session!
now it's coming up to 19:53PM... I don't really feel any different,
Next session 5-6 hours to be done 3-4 times a day!
    Will post results!

    UPDATE:
I done it again 00:00 12/06/09 again when I put the thing up my nose I started sneezing like crazy...
I done it again 14:00 13/06/09 again the same thing happened... but I must admit-I felt better... My eye's stop itching...
Runny nose stopped, itchy throat stopped....
I done it again 19:00 13/06/09 again I sneezed... BUT I DO feel better!?

Done it again 19:30 14/06/09 again sneezed like a sneezing machine... But still feel better then before this device...

I'm using the Medinose version and had exactly the same reaction to the probes being up my nostrils :D not to mention that my nose also streamed like hell too!

I think it's just due to the probes touching your nasal hairs and after a few weeks you get more tolerant to it - I wouldn't say it stops but it does improve ;)

I've definitely noticed that my eyes are not itchy compared to the normal levels that I experience. At the beginning of May my nose was completely clear and it's only recently that I get occasional blockage - I still get the sneezes now and again.

I'm still not 100% convinced that this medinose treatment actually works becuase I do get an instant reaction in areas where there is a lot of pollen.

Overall, I'm tending to avoid contact with pollen as much as possible but I'll keep using this treatment for now, whether or not it is just a placebo

The Lloyds device is certainly working for my wife. She would normally be experiencing very bad hayfever at this time of year but has experienced just extremely mild symptons so far. She started using the device a few months ago, way before the season started. She's a born sceptic but is totally converted by the results she has experienced.

Personally, I've no idea how or why it works but who cares? Similarly I don't really know how a TV works once I've pressed the ON button but as long as it does it's not something that keeps me awake at night....

I wonder-is it just mind trick?
waste of money!? they say it does something-but it doesn't-and you want it to work so badly that you start beliveing it? and "you" make it work-by your mind.!? :rotfl:

mine doesnt seem to work for me, which is a great shame as nothing else seems to work either. :(

i guess it may be helping a little, but i doubt it, as lifes hell at moment.

I did have an itchy mouth other day, and althought i wouldnt recommend it, i thought id have a go at keeping it in there, and the itching did stop. could have been co-incidence... or just the fact it warmed up my mouth? lol

The Lloyd's one has been superb for me for the last 2 years. However, this year it just doesn't seem to work and I'm back on the anti-histamines that also don't work!! Feeling miserable, sore nose, itchy throat that can't be scratched, and can't sleep due to a totally blocked nose.

The only difference from last year is that I've moved house and I'm far more in the country.

I'll never know how much worse it would be without the allergy reliever because it's not a risk I want to take.

Any ideas to relieve these symptoms will be greatly received - I wonder if you can become immune to the allergy reliever after a while?

I'd say try to avoid contact with pollen as much as possible, keep the curtains in the bedroom closed and don't sleep with the windows open for "fresh air" - after all, it's just full of pollen

For me there is a huge difference in symptoms living in a city vs living in the country. Many moons ago I briefly lived in London and I didn't suffer from hay fever at all for one whole summer.

The other "cure" for hay fever (for me) is to live in a Tropical (or humid) climate - I didn't hay fever at all living in Hong Kong (for 6 years) and only experienced a week of mild sneezing in April when I lived in Florida.

I've tried Citrizine (sp?) on occasion this year but it does send me to sleep - perhaps you could take one of those an hour or so before bed and see if it has the same effect
