PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

On another note does anybody know anything about these companies that try to make credit card agreements unenforceable. I know there has been bad press and had an e mail (SPAM) the other day saying how they could help me. Has anyone else had similar. I blocked them but they charge about 300 to get it checked I wonder if they need to be regulated by anybody or can they just try to reclaim. Sounds dodgy to me.
I think they have to be registered by the Ministry Of Justice or something similar - sure I read it on here somewhere on one of Tiggraes posts.0 -

Di, I emailed back with the info you gave about GE being fined again and the fact that I wasn't happy with them being in direct violation to their own t&c's ie despite me sending a doctors letter to show I have a condition that isn't covered, they have refused to accept it.
Here is the response that I got back - not happy and have asked for a complaints procedure.
The fine by the FSA was not in fact for mis-selling insurances policies. I believe the fine related conduct in respect of first mortgages. Also the original GE fine does not relate to the sale of your policy as the sale occurred before the FSA took responsibility for regulating PPI sales.
I am happy to approach GE again but will require some new information on which to base my approach. You will recall that to date every approach to GE has been refused. There is nothing to suggest that it would change its stance at this point. I do appreciate that this response does not meet your desired resolution but mis-selling has yet to be proven. If it is possible to do so, I will of course raise the issue with GE.
It is indeed annoying as they are still GE money and use the same bank, what about the the OFT/FLA or maybe the ICO, may be able to confirm some matters to you.
Just a thought really - but sometimes more digging needs doing, and I can really understand how you feel.
There is one company at least that i am unable to deal with as they were not regulated when we had the policy and they dissolved in 2006, and the broker of this company still runs other companies but it seems that they do not have to take any responsibility at all, and walk away from complaints.
So frustrating as its a few grand.....
I am still awaiting some information and have not or will not leave this lie.;)
I do hope this can be resolved for you, as far as I'm concerned if that company have been fined they are responsible no matter what !!!The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

So if they are registered by the Ministry Of Justice I assume this is another form of a regulator ? Am I correct folks ?;) Cheers. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

What I found:
PPI FINES
HFC Bank: £1,085,000
GE Capital Bank £610,000
Loans.co.uk: £455,000
Redcats (Brands) Ltd: £270,000
Hadenglen: £182,00
Capital One Bank £175,000
Regency Mortgage Corp: £56,000
Home & County Mortgages: £52,500
Capital Mortgage Connections: £17,500
GE capital bank - now are they to do with GE money are are these 2 different companies ?

Hmmmm, yes be very careful hunni, it maybe worth checking on "Companies house" or what about the FSA register?
Not unless you have already checked this out already hunni.;)
Not wanting to go down that line just bringing it up on here so that people are aware of the pit falls. These people get huge amounts of money up front and then they cannot go ahead. Think that they get to people when they are at their most vulnerable, If you know what I mean:eek::mad:0 -

Thats right hunni.;)
And of course if ever in doubt - as you know always check the regulation on these companies, it may save a lot of money - lol.....:D
But yes hun I agree with you totally.;) :beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
