So what does unfair rebate come under??
now you're confusing me - you've two complaints yes - one for an unfair settlement on your ppi the other for an unfair settlement on your loan - the FOS can look at the unfair settlement on your PPI because FP were members of the GISC - They can look at it because it's a complaint about insurance -

They can't look at the unfair settlement of the loan BECAUSE IT'S NOTHING TO DO WITH INSURANCE - FP only came under their jurisdiction for unfair settlement on a loan on 15.01.2005 -at this point I don't know whether putting Barclays down is making a difference but if you submit a claim for an unfair settlement on the loan against barclays just make sure it is a completely different complaint to the one about the insurance

I think i confused them with loan then as i used the rule 78 business but i did put that Firstplus never ever said anything about their being interest on the loan ppi for the full term and that my settlement was calculated using this method. I did not understand these policies until now - very recent - and i think its crazy that the FOS shoud think we do. I knew my settlement was high and that i had this ppi policy and that i only got a small rebate back. I told them that I wanted them to check it and also unfair settlement. Must have been my words then. We should not have to be so specific with them as they know we are complaining about these policies added to the loan and that we only get small amount back.We are not legal people.

Phew, I'm glad I'm reading up on all this information before adding any information on my FOS form........ .

And before I do I will be writing it in draft, add it on here, and maybe you lot can make sure I have not worded this wrong.;) :D .

And with mine being settled in Nov 2005, it should be okay then, well the FOS have not said any difference and have also helped by already adding the date of what I am complaining for me.
So its thanks to Tiggrae too. Cheers. xx

no most people aren't but they have to operate under a legal framework and I do think they try hard - maybe what they could have advised is to separate the two complaints out - but then again I'm not sure they can advise complainants in that way as it may be seen as bias and they have to maintain total neutrality

Can you see where i am coming from now Di.

I don't want to mess up again or anyone else on here. So settlement means of a loan and unfair rebate/settlement is ppi.

I may just leave it now with the FOS and see what they say... Lets hope iwin this time round.;)

I can't switch off. I look a mess and feel a mess but i want these sorting so much. I can't settle like i used to. Maybe need a good sleep but its late now. so good night everyone and sweet dreams.

how about this for a bit of amusement - to all you mothers out there !! I was up with my little dog last nite - he'd got a rash on his belly from walking through fields and woods yesterday - he's so little his under carriage is too close to the ground - could hear him scratching - sat with him with a cold wet flannel on his tummy and rubbing savlon in (he's laid flat on his back all 4 paws in the air) for 3/4 of an hour at 3am - have I lost the plot with this dog or what !!!!
