  • Hi all,

    Advice needed!!

We took out a loan with freedom fianance in 2005 and paid it back in full in 2006. We recently found out we were charged a single rate of £1250.00 for the PPI (the 10 year rate for the loan).

We issued the complaint letter to freedom and they have stated it isnt them and that they have passed it onto the PPI company based in Gibraltar.

This was nearly a month ago now and we still havent heard from them. Any ideas on what we should do next?

    Thank-you.

    Hi there Simone.
Okay hun, you need to get a letter in here, do you also think you were mis sold from the start of the policy, was you eligible for this ?
And was it front loaded ?

Hope you don't mind me asking you these questions, its just that a complaint can be sorted out in one go here.

Marshallka may be able to also advise you from here hun, keep refreshing your page for some feedback in case they get missed.;)

Me again, just re-read your post, get another letter in soon hunni.
You were obviously mis sold this policy, and you may have other reasons too.

Did you send the letter by recorded post ?

  • It was my husbands loan. From what we were told when we call up to ask it was a front loaded, single rate premuim so even though we paid it back 8 years early we were charged the whole fee.

When he took the loan he was self employed. He was also unaware that the PPI had been charged as he was single at the time, and the loan was secured he wouldnt have needed it!

Am I making sense? its all a bit confusing for me. should I write a new letter to the Gibraltar company with all the info I currently have??
