  • Hi, I hope someone can help. I got a personal loan with a company called loan one money store/the funding corporation and about a year into repayments they passed my debt onto another company called direct legal collections. I was confused at first because i never missed a payment and yet i was being passed to a debt collection agency. I want to try and claim back ppi as i was told i couldn't have the loan without it but who do i send the letter to, do i send it to loan one or direct legal collections. I hope this doesn't sound to confusing. Thanks for any help.

    Hi there mackenzie.
I would send the letter to the company who sold you the loan.
Check out the template for reclaiming on this site, and just delete what does not occur to you.

    Good luck !;)

Who were the actual company that sold this loan and ppi to you. That is who you have to make a claim from but if why would they send your debt to a debt collecting agency when you have not defaulted. Do you have any more information on the companies??

I would find out why this is also.

  • Hi, Thank you both for your replys. On my policy schedule it says that loan one money store sold me the loan but im not sure if the company has ceased trading. When they passed my debt on to direct legal i just assumed they sold my debt on because they no longer wanted to deal with it. I never had any explanation to why the debt was passed on. Thanks

I would then find out if they have gone into liquidation or something and if they have then maybe you could try the FSCS same as Di is having to do. I am sure she will tell you all about it as she is going through it now.

Here are the details of what they do etc

    http://www.fscs.org.uk/

What date was the loan and ppi taken out?

Its in date for claiming and not statute barred then, thats one good thing but now you need to find out if the company went bump.

I have looked at the FSA register under loan one money store and nothing there. Under just loan one the following

    Is this the address
    International House
    Hilliards Court, Chester Business Park
    Chester
    Cheshire
    CH4 9QP

If it is its under "the funding corporation limited"

Also as this 2005 was a top up loan was there ppi on the loan before.
