PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

I've seen those store card application forms - they are very long, with a lot of small print, and the sales assistant basically fills most of it, and gets the customer to sign in the boxes.
You'd have to sit down with a cuppa and read it carefully to get the full gist of it - not the 2 minutes you have in the shop.
I (carefully) yanked my 18-year-old sister away from an assistant in a high street fashion chain who was trying to get her to sign up for a store card (APR 28.9%) - the girl had the forms out and was ready to start filling them in, even though sis wasn't interested (had been warned by big sis)
LBM November 2005: approx £32K :eek:Current debt: approx £12K :TGetting there one day at a time0 -
yes you are entitled to reclaim. Lombard like all the rest are reluctant to pay out, but if it was 3 years ago you should be OK as they came under the jurisdiction of the Financial Ombudsman then and you can take your complaint there
Ok just trying to write the letter to claim back my PPI which was not mentioned to me whatsoever (I know this because I never take out any insurance for loans, credit cards etc) but are they not going to just turn around and say sorry I signed the paperwork and that's it. Am I best mentioning this myself saying even though the paperwork was signed it was not mentioned to me once at the point of sale or something along them lines?? Any help would be appreciated. Cheers0 -
Oh also, are they meant to keep a copy of the recording of the telephone conversation(s)???0

Thanks MWH1 I will now sign and post tomorrow on way to work! Lets hope I have the same conclusion with First Direct (with FOS) don't hold out much hope though, they seem to be going down the court route a lot and I don't think I've got the know how to tackle that!0

Hi hun.
I'm actually fighting a Credit Card PPI myself, in fact its with the FOS right now.
Will update here in time.
Can I ask how long ago did you take the Credit Card ?
Have you a terms & conditions agreement that you should have had within a short time of having these products ?
I do know there is a time limit for credit card ppi cancellation but if you believe you were mis sold this actual product I would pursue to them about this and request for whatever has been paid, plus charges and interest etc.
There are templates to help you on this site, but meanwhile I'm sure one of these lovely lot can give you the advice and information you require.;)
Good luck with whatever you decide to do hunni.;)
Di.
I never got a copy of the term & conditions, I only had it read out to me when i activated my card back in December. But I am already in the middle of claiming the others, sent a letter over a week ago.
I'm just waiting to hear back from them, these are my big ones as its over a few years. the capital one i am not bothered either way.
But with capital one i wanted to see what my best options is, considering i was aware what it was i just didn't think at the time due to worries with money at the time.0 -

Hi all. I'm not really savvy with the banking system , However, after reading the PPI related topics on this site i thought I'd download Martins template - format as necessary then send off.
Today - I received a response from Lloyds *Pge1* *Pge2*
Is the pre-exsisting medial issue a Grey area ?
Should i peruse any further?
Do i have a case?
What should i do next?
Look forward to replies.

Hi, I started my claim for O/Draft PPI in April. I had several delaying letters from Barclays and then one essentially saying "unable to offer refunds". When I was sold the O/D protection in Aug 2004 I was employed but I became S/E in July 2005. Barclays are saying that they "do not discriminate against self employed people and any claim would have been considered by Barclays Insurance Dublin" I just want to know where I stand before I push on. I am only asking for refund of my payments that they have taken AFTER I became self employed( July 2005). Will I have no claim as at the time of "sale" I was employed I only became S/E during the policy term?
Any help greatly appreciated. :T0 -
