    any advice how to go about get ppi insurance back of credit cards i am new to the site dont know how to claim it back
    it's the same process as for ppi on a loan - you'll need to look at the ppi reclaiming main forum for the letter formats

    hi im in the same possition has you when i read your post i contacted the ombudesman who gave me a number for someone else they said that they had no record of PLE being in recievership and has far has they were concerned PLE were still trading, i have sent second letter to PLE and it has been signed for so will have to see what happens i will let you no if i hear anything else good luck, paul

    there is a government compensation scheme for insurance / finance companies which have gone into receivership Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) - but if it's a claim for mis selling the mis selling had to have taken place after 15.01.05.

    Otherwise you can use Section 75 if the Consumer Credit Act 1974 which makes a Credit Grantor (First Plus in this case) liaible for the actions of their authorised agents

    I am trying to claim PPI on my Barclaycard account which I have closed in 2006. When I arrived to the UK and opened my bank account, the staff of Barclays offered me a credit card and pushed me to sign up to PPI as they told me it was the only way to get my application accepted as I did not have any credit history. Obviously, back then (2003) being new to this country, I did not know any different and accepted and never questioned it.

    Barclaycard sent me their final response after 3 days from my letter, saying that they acted in the right way, blah blah blah... I have sent my complaint to the Ombudsman and am now awaiting their feedback on the case.

    Has anyone had any similar experiences?

    i am wondering if someone can advise me if i have a case.i took out a loan with northern rock last october and was told that if i took gold level insurance i would qualify for the lower interest rate or the silver level which would cost less but loan apr would increase so they both worked out at similar total.i was told that without the insurance my application would probably be turned down.not sure if i have grounds to complain or not.

    this document might help both of you. Its one that Tiggrae gave to me in a slightly different position but it still applies

    Its about joint liability if something like this happens and you can use this against Firstplus under section 75 of cca 1974. If she is on later or tomorrow i am sure she will explain it better but don't give up.

    There are lots on here the same, you need to wait now for the FOS to get back to you but it is within their jurisdiction which is one good thing. Good luck

    Did you want any insurance or were you told you could get your own. Also did they tell you your APR would be affected by not having the insurance or the fact that you would not get the loan at all. I'm not sure that the PPI should affect your APR at all or interest rate at all????? Tiggrae is the best to ask there.

    The point is do you think it was missold to you. Did it benefit you and did you ask for it. If not then i would complain.

    Was it a front loaded policy and what if you cancelled it would you get anything back. The ones that are the worst are the ones that you pay for at the start of your loan up front and then if you cancel you get a very unfair rebate if any.

    sorry for the delay
    send it to head office by recorded delivery it costs about 1.08 (post office orange label) you can use track and trace on royal mail site to see when they have signed for it then count 40 days from that point
    still fighting for my money !!!

    I was told it was there as a benefit and had the option to use it.
    I m sending a SAR and asking for the list of PPI payments
    still fighting for my money !!!
