PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

Can anyone advise please?
Have received our credit card bill this morning (Debenhams Mastercard) and have noticed we pay a monthly 'account cover charge' of £1.50 per £100 balance. Is this the PPI that we could potentially reclaim?
I have read Martins article and have seen that GE Capital Bank (who run Debs cards) have been fined for misselling. Also my DH is a contractor so could we claim on the unemployment thing?

Hi Laini,
Just a quick question, when I write to CSL for my full SAR, I have the head office address, should I send the request there or to the CSL store I bought the suite from?

About to commence a reclaim for the MBNA credit card PPI. I already have a PPI reclaim with FOS (HBOS) which is awaiting arbitration (since start of March 08)
As Marshall said, you can correspond with the company after they've given you their final response, but its unlikely they'll change their position on the reclaim. Again, as per Marshallka, request an SAR to get all your account details. Go to page 21 of this thread and copy 'Laini' post which includes a template SAR. It is first class stuff :T . Send the £10 and despatch it by recorded delivery. You dont want them saying they didn't receive it as they have 40 days in which to respond. You should be able to calculate the PPI total from the documents they send. In any case, if the FOS rule in your favour, they will calculate the value of the PPI reclaim on your behalf.
I have copied and pasted Laini's letter and saved in on my pc - the reason I haven't sent it off its because I am also trying to reclaim credit card charges i.e. late / overlimit fees on the same card. I have sent them the £10 for this information which they cashed on 17th June - I am still waiting for a list of these charges. I didn't know whether I'd need to send another £10 for a list of PPI charges - I don't really want to pay twice! (Why should I?!!)
Good luck reclaiming your PPI - let me know how you get on!
Thanks again!Barclaycard PPI £274.84: Currently with FOS
Barclaycard Fees £226.87: Still being hit with overlimit fees due to BC lowering limit
MINT £101.61: Accepted offer for £95.05! 17/08/08 :T
Abbey: Waiting for list of charges0 -

Have you asked for a SAR (subject access request) from them. Its all the data information that they hold about you and they have to by law answer this within 40 days of asking. It does cost £10 but its well worth it if you are after proof. You will find a template letter on here for the exact information to ask for.
Thanks for your comments - as mentioned to MWH1 I am trying to claim credit card charges as well as PPI for the same card. I didn't know about reclaiming PPI until after I asked for a list of charges. Barclaycard have already cashed my cheque for £10 on 17th June and if I haven't had the list of charges sent to me by tomorrow I am going to write to them requesting them again as their 40 days are up. I didn't want to send off requesting an SAR with another £10! What shall I do?!Barclaycard PPI £274.84: Currently with FOS

did you use track and track to see when they signed for itstill fighting for my money !!!0 -
also you can report them to ICO if they have gone over the 40 days, its 40 days from when they receive it not when you sent it
did you use track and track to see when they signed for it
Let us know later about your claim. Are you ringing them soon:mad: ?????0 -

Really? Thats a !!!!!! then as we won't won't be able to claim it back. Annoying thing is we only use the card for buying things online (food/clothes/DVDs etc etc) so hardly the sort of thing to need insurance for :mad:Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08).
