PPI Reclaiming discussion Part II

thank you :-)
I have just read the back of my loan agreement and it says "You: authorise us to pay over the insurance premium for the cover to the insurers at the time and in the way they require"
what does this mean, does it mean that Abbey are not the insurers?
When you take out a loan, and ppi is added, what generally happens is that a big lump sum is paid in front to the insurers by the lender or whoever sold you the loan, you then have this to pay back which is added in with your loan repayments.
This is also going by my agreement.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

No problem hun.;)
I take it that Abbey were your lenders ?
You should have some documents/paperwork, maybe with the agreements/term & conditions which have the name of the insurers on it.;)
Even though it will be the lender taking the payments every month.
I do know this can be very confusing. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi everyone
Well I have had a very quick reply from First Plus about our PPI reclaim case and this is the response:
I note from our records that the loan and payment protection insurance were actually sold to you by The Personal Loan Express. Unfortunately as this is the case, First Plus does not have access to the records of the sale between you and the broker. I am therefore unable to investigate the sale of the insurance.
Unfortunately, the Personal Loan Express are no longer trading and as such will be unable to review your concerns. Your case however may be able to contact the FSCS at.....
Now, I have no recollection of going through this Personal Loan Express company whoever they are, and thought we went direct to First Plus, so what do we do now? any advice?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -

Arghhhhhhhh, this frustrates me...... , another company !!!
Right hun, google in FSCS, go onto Consumer, they have contact details, contact them as soon as possible and they will be able to confirm if you can go through these or not, and they will send you a form soon, they generally send these out in batches.
Both me and Pinknico have claims in with the FSCS also, and again 2 different companies.
If your unable to find the link, give me a yell and I will send you the details you need.;)
Sorry to hear of this hun I really am.
Edited back in, hun here is the link to the FSCS/contacts, you can also check on that link for firms in default:

its glorious sunshine where I am but very very cold :-)
Are loan companies supposed to tell you that you are taking out a single premium policy?

Brilliant.:D
Have you checked out their default list ?
What we did was ring them, instead of emailing them first, then the guy said email and add what we can about the firm that are no longer active, as soon as we done this we had confirmation from him to say that yes we were eligible for this scheme, as it gave him chance to check the info out.
At least you have already done that now.;)
Good luck, I'm sure it will all work out fine.
Do you know who the liquidators are?
I will check this out on Companies house and post back in, in case the FSCS also ask you to register your claim with the liquidators as well as themselves.
Checked this out on Companies house
