Morning all
Got a reply from FLA stating, unfortunately Freedom Finance is not a member of this association therefore we are unable to deal with your complaint.
Try CAB or trading standards.
Worth a try
No message from wendy yet
They were a member of FISA though:wave:0 -
Can anyone help me?
In April 2006 I took out a HSBC unsecured loan for £19000 plus PPI, which I was told, I could not get the loan without it. The total monthly repayments were £335.77 with PPI and these began on 1/8/06. However, on 31/5/07, HSBC agreed to consolidate a credit card amount of £1000 so rearranged the original loan over the same time scale and increased the monthly repayments to £375.32, which included £82.83 monthly PPI repayments.
Unfortunately, on 10/10/08 I had no alternative but to resign from employment, (after 18 years), due to work related stress. I am in the process of making a claim for unemployment with PPI, although am not hopeful of the outcome. If I am unsuccessful in my claim do you think I should try to reclaim PPI, including the period between 2006 and 2007, before the original loan was recalculated? Also, if I do claim, will I be able to obtain insurance elsewhere when I am currently unemployed?0 -
I'm sending my letters again after sending the original to the wrong addresses, but I was wondering how many of you have called to say you think you had been mis-sold your PPI's and was it worth the call or is it just better sending the letters off.
My ongoing loan with Abbey ends Spring next year and I'm paying roughly £18 a month PPI and I'm going to cancel it, I have put this in my letter but by the time they get round to replying I will have paid 2 more months. So is it worth a phone call or not?

Hi there Kelly
I hope you hear something very soon and that they will uphold in your favour, good luck!
I think most firms act this way to be honest, we were always receiving similar letters to yours.
Have you had the chance to check out the older posts on here, you may come across some who used the same company as yourself.;)
Please keep us posted hun, thanks.

Hi there
I would defo try to reclaim on this.
Your reasons due to being informed you had to have the ppi with the loan etc etc and whatever other reasons you feel you were mis sold.
Here is the link which takes you to the list of mis selling reasons, also a template letter on the site to help you with your letter, personally I would put the letter in your own words, because I imagine they receive loads of these same looking template letters.
Add as much info as possible.

They have 8 weeks to respond, and if that first letter you receive is unsuccessful, another can be sent in order for them to reconsider this complaint, and of course if still unsuccessful you can then take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service.;)
We will work through this step by step, so if you can send a letter, give them 8 weeks, when you hear, let us know the outcome of this, we will know what step to take next, thanks hun.
Also remember to post by recorded delivery, to keep an eye on the dates of 8 weeks.
Good luck!

Hi Shellbell
I would keep everything in writing, because this will be your proof if your case needs to be taken to the financial ombudsman service.
By all means, still ring them if you want to, but a letter is your evidence.;)
And as you know post by recorded delivery - again your proof.;)
Every letter you write and receive, always photocopy.;)
Good luck!

thank you :-)
I have just read the back of my loan agreement and it says "You: authorise us to pay over the insurance premium for the cover to the insurers at the time and in the way they require"
what does this mean, does it mean that Abbey are not the insurers?0
