I think its probably the cancellation of the policy and then the unfair rebate through Firstplus now. Maybe singlep or tiggrae can thrown some more comments here. I can't see that the original complaint would still be open if you know what I mean. There is also Simone in the same boat here. I think all these need to get together and write to the OFT about this triangle of companies. Get something done. I did my bit and now if they want to take this further then more letters and complaints need making.
Hi there Marshallka hunni.....;)
Yes I have just read back and I think now maybe Tiggrae or Singlep may have other options to suggest with this one, its one of those awkward companies again....... .The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Yes I believe I had read something on loans.co.uk going bump too, so if it comes to the push there is always the FSCS (compensation scheme), not sure how it works from here really in case any other takes over these, not certain, so maybe they should see what the letter says which Michael says he is expecting by next week.
Perhaps the letter will confirm what is what.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi all.
I posted a week or so ago about a First Plus loan with PPI and was advised by the wonderful di3004 and marshallka that I had been mis-sold and should put a claim in.
Before I do it, I just want to check something: If I still currently have the loan with First Plus, what happens if I get the PPI back?
Will they take it off the value of the loan or send me a cheque and lower my monthly payments?
I wrote to them before asking if they would cancel the PPI (before I saw this forum) and they said they would give me just over a tenth of it back and knock it off the loan reducing my payments ever so slightly.
Thanks for your help - this is a great forum :hello:0 -

Hi there hunni, and thank you for your lovely comment about myself and Marshallka.
Right hun, to what I do know is that if the loan is still active they may suggest on reducing your loan when deducting the ppi, but I do know you can also request for this to be paid directly back to you.;)
Once they have admitted mis selling this hun, in my opinion the ball is in your court and its your money, so you tell them how you would prefer to receive this.;)
When this is paid back to you your repayments will be reduced.
Please keep us posted and if you require any further info, guidance etc, you know where we are.....:D .
Good luck !
Di.

If you did win you would be put back into the position as if you never had the PPI at all. Another thing here. Was it definately Barclays Firstplus that actually sold you the loan and PPI or did you go through a broker on this. If you went through a broker then you have to make your claim through the broker.0 -

Aww bless ya hun.....;) .
Well I know you would be superb at this, and like me I would want to make sure that everyone get their PPI back too.:D

marshallka wrote: »yes that is what your option is here. They give you only a tenth of the actual PPI that is on your ageement minus the interest so very little indeed and also it would hardly reduce your monthly payments at all. When was your loan with them??

Yes, it was direct with Barclays First Plus. I'm going to complete and print the template letters off today, so will let you know how I get on. Thanks so much for your help xx0 -

Anyway, in January of this year, we had to pass it over to FOS who finally passed it to a judicator in August (8 months later!) then in Sep we got told that they then had to pass it on to the financial compensation services (something like that anyway) because loans.co.uk do not have enough money to pay debts off and are showing as about to go into liquidation. The company that it was passed onto, pay debts that companies can't afford to. Anyway, they sent us a REALLY long form to fill out and said it will take SIX months! - im not very hopeful as it is all taking so long. they said it is taking longer as they haven't actually gone into liquidation yet.
Hope your experience is more straight forward than ours is. Could really do with that money. Esp with the state of the credit crunch.0
