I couldn't make it, but gave my tickets to my BIL & Nephews, thay had a fantastic time:j

I'm so sorry to hear about the 2 boys & their Father, who I believe is in a bad way, I didn't realise they were going to this event - a real tragedy.

We were going to go to Silverstone but gave the tickets away as my daughters decided on Alton Towers instead, we were stuck in the jam caused by the accident. Ironicly we would have been on the motorway about the same time the accident happened had we been going to Silverstone and also the family were from the same area of Manchester where we live, I have seen the eldest boy a few times round here. It is so very sad.
  • Great day out, was so pleased to see the f1 car flying round the track

thank you to who ever posted this ticket link

we had a family day out aswell there was some of or family from Cambridgeshire and some from Hertfordshire so we did not have too far to travel,
left home about 7 o'clock and got there about 8.45 not much traffic going but murder on the way back,
we had a great day a bit chilly when we got there but by 10 o'clock ish it was really getting hot,
and we all got sunburnt even with suntan lotion,
loads to see and got loads of photo's of the cars,
if this is going to be on at Silverstone next year we will probably go again.
thanks to the original poster for a great day out.

n721785842_907111_1872.jpgwent yesterday and got severly burnt by the sun!!!!
great day out though. Watched the first two races and then we went on to explore everything else going on there.

There were some gorgeous women there. We made a deal with the girls we went with that if they wanted their pics done with the drivers then we could have ours done with the pit stop girls!

nice to have met you and glad you can now go with all your family

Thanks a lot Snail's Pace, you made for one very happy family outing indeed!!!! I didn't have time to access the forum all the time we were there hence the late reply, and we got back really late last night. Getting back into the school run this morning was a task and a half!

Really sad about the two boys and their dad though, have been feeling guilty ever since I heard - some having fun, some in pain and all over the same event! C'est la vie I guess.

Btw, nice meeting you too :A .

Thanks OP. I couldn't go but I passed on the link to some friends that went and they had an excellent time. It is such a shame about the two little boys and their dad. When I heard they were going to silverstone I put 2 and 2 together, it's so sad. RIP. My condolences go to their family.

I am the mother and wife of the other 3 passengers that were in the car and would like to thank you all for your comments.
The boys were all so excited about going to Silverstone, had been looking forward to it for weeks, I wish I had never gotten them their tickets.
